Decorating question for co-op & condo owners

If you live in a co-op or condo do you decorate it more like an apartment, or a house?

Is your furniture more temporary, or did you really invest in pieces, like most people do when they buy a home?

I've lived here for over 2 years, and it still kind of feels like my old apartment with the same hodge- podge of Ikea furniture & hand me downs, except that there is color on the walls. ( some ours, some was already here. )

Re: Decorating question for co-op & condo owners

I decorate my co-op like I would if I had a house. When we first got married several of our pieces were inexpensive and got us throug but slowly each of those pieces have been replaced with nicer more expensive peices. My next find is a desk and shelves.

I rent an apartment, but it is my HOME, so I have it decorated as such. Since getting married, we've invested in quality furniture, and other things to make it very much ours, even though our name isn't on the deed.

I decorate my condo as I would my house- I bought the best quality stuff I could. I felt it more important to spend more on better quality dining room furniture- my living room set I spent less on because I figure the lifespan of that furniture isn't normally as long.

I decorated my co-op like with quality pieces. It was my home and I owned it. When I got married and we bought a house many of the pieces that were in my co-op we use in our house.

we bought really inexpensive furniture, our dressers are Ikea , we only have a bed frame no head board. we fig why spend $ here on this coop. when we buy a h ouse then we will invest for long term furniture. DS has beautiful furniture, we don't !
