Deed to house
We closed on a house in the beginning of October and we still have not have received the deed. I looked online at the town of Islip Suffolk County tax accessor page and my address is still showing the names of the people who sold us the house. About how long does it take to be updated and for us to get the deed in the mail? Thanks!

Re: Deed to house
The deed does not come from the Town. Go to the Suffolk County Clerk's website. It will tell you what date they are up to processing the deeds.
Generally, the recorded deed gets sent to your attorney who forwards it on to you. We did a closing for a client the last week of October, and we have not yet received the deed.

My accountant usually just wanted the closing statement or the closing disclosure. You should also have a copy of the deed (before it's recorded).
