Delestrogen shot?
I have delestrogen on my protocol for tonight and see that it is an intra-muscular shot. So far I have done all of my shots myself and DH is having nightmares about having to do it. He says he doesn't want to inflict any pain on me. Did anyone do this shot themselves? I think I would be better than DH's shaky hand.

I had the nurse at my doctors office administer the shots. My DH isnt good with needles and I couldnt deal with the added stress. I got them every three days so it wasnt too bad. Usually I was there for monitoring anyway. Good Luck.

I was never able to do that shot by myself either. Come to think of it my DH did all the shots for me because I'm a real big chicken!  But I know that some women on here have mentioned that they managed to do that shot on their own. If I had to do it on my own though, I would ice the hell out of the area - like I used to anyway - and then draw a circle to aim at the right location, and I guess that using a mirror would be really helpful.

Can't I do it in the thigh area? I just watched a Youtube video that happened to be by SIRM on how to administer the shot and they showed the thigh. Oh boy, if I have to do it in my rear

I would do it where your doctor/nurse recommended. I was with Dr B at the time and the nurses gave all the instructions about where the shots should be done, how they should be done etc. Does your place recommend the thigh? Then great, that will definitely be a lot easier cause you can actually see it!

I was told by the nurse at my RE that it can be administered in the thigh!!

Thanks, ladies. I'm all set. I have a friend who's a nurse and she just helped her DD through IVF so she said she will do my shots for me any time.
