Laptop. We have 2 and I don't think I'll ever go back to a desk top, the laptop is just so much more convenient.

I have a mac desktop and laptop. But the desktop is older and I hardly ever use it. My dh has a dell desktop and a compaq laptop. But he hardly ever uses his laptop. Hmm... maybe we have one too many computers in this house?
Do you travel a lot? If you think you could use your computer outside of the house I would go for a laptop. If not definitely get the desktop. It is cheaper and easier to take care of imo.

I have a work laptop - that is what I am on now....but my home computer blew up - so that is what I would be replacing - That was a desktop

I have a desktop now, but I am thinking about getting a laptop so I can go wireless and sit on the couch with DH and surf while he watches sports. It's the best of both worlds!

Wireless laptop so you're not tied to one place in the house.
We have a desktop downstairs & I use a work laptop that's wireless.

I have a laptop and DH has a desktop.
I love my laptop. I can use it in the Living room, in bed when I am sick, etc... It's wireless. I don't have to be secluded in the office to work on the computer. I can be with DH in the same room if I want to when he is watching TV.
I just love the fact that I don't need a desk that take space in my house. It's small and convenient.
If you already have a laptop (and can use it at home!) and you have the space for a desktop, then I would get a desktop. You can get a lot more for your $$$.

We have a desktop downstairs & I use a work laptop that's wireless.
This is what we'll be doing for our next one, switching from a desktop to a laptop. Dh might start working from home so he'll be taking over the home office. With the kids on the way I'd rather be mobile with the new computer.

I think it depends on your needs, how much you travel, etc.
For me, I had a computer for literally 15 years before I got a laptop, and I didn't need one, and had no use for it, but once I got a laptop (It worked well for me because I commuted to school), it was the best thing. I can work from anywhere. But the downside is they're pricey, everything's slower on wireless, and they're generally not as powerful. I am already looking for more RAM for my laptop.
I have a mac laptop and I LOVE it. It's just so hassle free, which is awesome, the only frustrating thing is that I can't play my games on it that I already bought for PC and the one online game I play only works for PC at this time, so I still keep my desktop for gaming. I like it though. I can work anywhere. I work from home, so right now I am working from the kitchen table while eating breakfast, etc. On the other hand, it can be a BIG distraction, once you can have the computer everywhere.

I have a laptop, DH has a desktop. We use my laptop so much more than we ever used the desktop, because we can use it in any room. I love it.

I just went through this...we were undecided and finally agreed a desktop is better for us...more "computer" for your $. We have the space and don't really need to travel with it.
