Re: devistated *bump*
again i am so so sorry for what you're going through in response to your update, i guess every dr has their own set of recommendations for their patients. my dr told me to wait 2 cycles before ttc again. i have heard all different things- some say that it takes a little while for your uterus and your body to readjust before you conceive again, and some say it doesnt matter and you are most fertile right after a loss. either way, best of luck and my heart goes out to you

I was told to wait for 2 cycles then we could start again. Every Dr says something different. Good Luck.

Re: devistated *bump*
When I had my first m/c and had a D&C, I was told to wait 3 cycles (which became about 4 months). My last m/c was natural and I was told 2 cycles (which became 3 months). I would be worried that after one month your uterine lining is not thickened back up and could cause a problem with implantation.

I am so very sorry for your loss
I lost my son in May at 24 weeks. I did have the genetic testing done and did get some answers. My doctor told me to wait three months and I am currently 20 weeks pregnant with my third.

I know it's hard to believe but it does get better. I always see him when I close my eyes and my heart does still ache but it does get easier. Just give it some time.

Re: devistated *bump* *bump - question*
I am just anxious in general.. never took meds for it though... and I found that after my D&E I had A LOT of anxiety. I also didn't realize it at the time but I was depressed as well I never took anything for it .. just got by day to day and eventually it passed.
I didn't have an appetite for about a month after.
Your doctor is right, this is all VERY normal!!
As you know, feel free to FM ANYTIME!!

Re: devistated *bump* *bump - question*
My doctor told my husband and I to watch for signs of postpartum depression. She explained that the hormone levels drop quickly the same way they do after you give birth. She gave me some pamphlets about it and some numbers to call (support groups/therapist). I haven't called anyone yet because I think I am okay but I have felt varying waves of depression.
I haven't felt anxious like you said, just more depressed. I think these types of feelings are normal considering the loss and add to it our horomones are all over the place.
If you feel like you are losing control over yourself or it is interefering with your daily life than I would consider talking to a therapist. Otherwise it sounds normal and it should get better with time.

Re: devistated *bump* *bump - question*
This can be common after a mc.
i suffered the same thing, both the anxiety and the depression. They gave me meds. I refused to take them because the thought of holding off on TTC gave me even more anxiety. And the thought of getting pregnant while on meds and risking something happening also gave me more anxiety. it was a really crazy time for me.
I just sent you a slightly more detailed FM.

This is what I was told too. My thought was ... how could I tell the difference between PPD and being depressed over the reality of the situation?!
Everything you are feeling is VERY normal!!

I am so sorry for this horrible loss. What you are going through/feeling right now sounds very normal considering the trauma you have just endured.

Re: devistated *bump* *bump - question*
Aww I am so so sorry for your loss. There must be no words that can comfort you but just know that all of us on LIF are thinking of you.
On a side note I wanted to tell you that I know two people who experienced late term miscarriages. One was at 20 weeks and another at 39 weeks, ughhh so hard. My friend who went full-term started trying again pretty fast, I think she got pregnant after trying 2 cycles. Her dr. wanted her to wait 3 months but she started pretty fast, after 2 periods.
Also one more quick question...what is a D&E, you delivered right? I wanted to note that when you deliver (whether the baby is alive or not) you can take maternity time. I am not sure where you work or what their maternity program is. Since you are feeling down maybe you would like some time off? Or maybe going to work is a good distraction? I just wanted to put it out there incase you didnt know.

In a D&E you don't deliver, it's actually very similar to a D&C but performed later on.
When I went through my loss and had a D&E, I took a medical leave from work. I found this was the best decision because it gave me time to find some peace emotionally from everything that went on. I highly recommend finding out about a medical leave. If you take a leave through FMLA, you are entitled to up to 12wks off paid or unpaid, depending on what your employer's policy is.
