I will say that we moved from Rosedale (Queens) in Aug -09 and live in Henry County which is 30 minutes south of ATL. It is far enough from the city that we dont have to deal with the traffic and so forth but close enough to get to entertainment when needed. We have all major stores within 5 miles of our community, including Tanger Outlets! We have only been back to NY once since moving and I was so ready to get back to GA.

We have a 4 and 2 year old. The QUALITY of life that GA offers for my children is worth more to me than my friends and family that we left behind in NY. Grandparents and close friends visit often and my In-Laws love it so much that they are looking to buy this year!!! It is definitely religious in the sense that ppl will say, God bless you more often and I have never prayed at work with coworkers so much in my life before meetings etc. But I want my kids to grow up with that value to seek God first in all that they aspire to do. So it works for us.

GA is beautiful. There is nothing at this point that would ever convince me to move back to NY. NY's air and airport even felt and smelled dirty...ewww, the last time we were there. LOL!!

Oh, and my DH transferred with GEICO in Woodbury to Geico down here in Macon, GA and I am a social worker and found work within 2 months.

I don't envy you today...but I am so happy to hear that either way, you guys are on the same page.

Nothing to do with this...but how awesome is it that you would be transferring your grandmother down? You seem like a gem.
