Re: Diaper Genies, is it really worth it??? Update:
From a BTDT mommy . . . we have a Diaper Champ (based on Baby Bargain recommendations over the Diaper Genie). My sister, who is a BTDT told me not to get it. I didn't listen to her, and I'm glad I didn't. DD's room is on the 2nd floor, and 99% of her diaper changes are there. It is convenient, and it keeps the odors in the pail, not in the room. When it is pouring rain outside, I don't have to worry about where the diaper is going to go b/c I always know.
DD is now eating solid foods and the odor associated with her diapers is much stronger than when she was a newborn, and still the Diaper Champ keeps all the odor in the pail.
DH is in charge of changing the bag - which he does religiously at least 2x per week. He has never complained about the odor or anything.

Re: Diaper Genies, is it really worth it??? Update:
nope, we didn't register for one of those 'containment units'. I intend to use biodegradable diapers (7th gen) and will wedge a 'load' into biodegradable bags and then out they go. We're in a 1 BR apt and the changing table is not far from my side of the bed.... my nose is sensitive, so there will be no 'storage' near me
we take out the trash 1-2X a day as is, so it won't be difficult to make a few extra trips to the dumpster

I think they are all a waste. I bough scented bags from BRU and I would just toss the diapers in there and throw them outside in the garbage

That's good to know. I registered for the Diaper Champ based on the Baby Bargains review and the fact that it was the only one where you don't need to buy special bags.

Let me tell you. Those bags hold a lot of diapers!!! I don't throw it out until it is full. Especially since it doesn't smell.
You can use coupons for them and buy them online cheaper.
I think also Costco has them but I am not 100% sure.

I registered for a Diaper Champ...I used it for maybe 2 months. I now buy green baggies called Diaper Sacks for the poopie diapers instead and throw them in the outside garbage.

I'm not getting one. I will just use plastic bags and throw them away that way.
Never got one and been doing this for 15 months now.
Not worth it to me, any of those diaper thingys... IMO

Re: Diaper Genies, is it really worth it??? Update:
I can't imagine keeping DD's dirty diapers in her room in the house. The dirty ones go in a blue scented bag and into the trash, which is taken out often. I wouldn't get one of those cans!
