Diapers for newborns?

I am having my first child in August and I had a question about what diapers I should have at home for when we bring DS home? Should I have newborn or size 1 and what brand should I start with?

The hospital used pampers size 1- but I bought small packages of NB pampers and huggies when I came home. Stuck with pampers for about a month then went to the size 1. I have since switched to huggies- no dry max and I like them better.

I would buy maybe a small package of NB diapers to start with- although, you could go straight to size 1

I would only go with a size 1. They will out grow the newborn size in a week or 2. As far as brand I would wait to see what the hospital uses because they gave me a package of Pampers to take with me. Then from there you can see if you like what brand they use or buy another. Since you have something to compare to.

DD was born 2 weeks ago at 5lbs, 10oz. The size 1 diapers in the hospital were huge on her. We're using the newbron swaddlers now and they are still a little big. I guess it all depends on the size of your DC.

my DS never wore NB diapers - he was only 7lbs 14oz, but has a chunky butt . We used the size 1 pampers swaddlers from the hospital, then went to BJs brand size 1/2.
