Did any of you have a large amount of amniotic fluid?
The doctors finally figured out the cause of my contractions and abdominal pain at 34 weeks. I have a crazy amount of amniotic fluid. Like an idiot, I just looked up some articles on it on the internet. Now I'm freaking out!!! Did anybody go through this? TIA!!!

I was told I had a lot of amniotic fluid. It just caused me to have some swelling.

Re: Did any of you have a large amount of amniotic fluid?
yes, I had a large amount. I was seen weekly for bio physicals and NST's b/c of it. They tried to figure out if something was wrong with the baby etc.
AND they told me my water would break and create a gush.
well , my son is 100% healthy and my water when it broke, trickled out. I thought it was a little pee.
They have to be safe, but this happens to SOOOOO many women and for NO reason.
I had myself scared to death for no reason.

Re: Did any of you have a large amount of amniotic fluid?
I had excess fluid - I was up at 35 (you are in high range when you hit 25 I think.) I was between 30 and 35 for a number of weeks - and at 34 weeks my stomach was measuring the size of someone who was 40 weeks pregnant - I had a lot of contractions. They were telling me they thought the baby had a TE fistula or esphogeal atreasia and one of the signs is excess fluid - so they assumed that was why I had a lot of fluid. Around 37 weeks my fluid just suddenly dropped to 15.
They never figured out why my fluid was so high - I did not have GD or other issue that could cause it. It just disappeared suddenly. I did have upper normal fluid for a while before I suddenly went out of normal range.
Yes it can make you have contractions and I was on bed rest so as not to rupture or go into early labor (although they did not put me on meds to stop the contractions).
You can FM me if you have any questions.
