I bought 2....not sure if DD will even take to it....probably not.

ETA: If I can't sell them, I'll return them to Kohl's. I got free shipping so it's no loss at all, either way.

Me too. Trying to make a little money I completly understand. I cant do it myself, but really I do get it. ( and have thought about it!) Its the people who buy them ALL up hoping to sell millions of them that bother me more.

It seems like they are going for alot on Ebay - up to $100. I may order another to sell....anyone else do this?

I bought 2 of them but not sure what to do with one of them. I may sell it.. or I may just give it as a give. It all depends on the demand.

You are not alone....

Re: Did anyone buy an extra Elmo live to sell on ebay

We had preordered one from Amazon.com, but we couldn't find the order - so we preordered one from Walmart.com, just to make sure DD had one, since she's obsessed with Ellmo...

If both come in, I'm not sure what I will do...either sell it or give it as a gift to one of our nieces/nephews...

Re: Did anyone buy an extra Elmo live to sell on ebay

I was just at the BJ's in Levittown on Hempstead Turnpike and they had an entire display of the Elmo's and they were $59.94...

My mother was at the Target by my brother's house in Houston at 7:45 in the am for an 8 o'clock opening and there was no one there.. She walked right in and got 2 Elmo's ( that was what you were able to get).. At least she felt happy for achange in getting her grandchildren a great toy!!!

She actually is going to return them now because I just got one in BJ's and she won't have to ship them here...

she did say they only had 8 of them..

Re: Did anyone buy an extra Elmo live to sell on ebay

Please don't think I am a horrible mom but I am not going crazy to buy my 20 month old the "in" toy. Maybe next year things will be different and she will be asking for something, but this year I am taking advantage of buying her toys I think are cute and she might like.

I am also not stressing because DD's birthday is in February and if she is showing interest in something by then, I will get it for her then.

Re: Did anyone buy an extra Elmo live to sell on ebay

I know I seem to be in the minority here, but I don't see naything wrong with buying extras and selling them on ebay. This is pretty much what my sister does for a living. Many times people who orer from her are not located near toy stores, or are simply not store shoppers- they get everything online. As long as they're getting the product they want, and my sister is making money to pay her bills, I don't see the problem. The core idea of it is exactly what this country is based on.

I am so not buying this at any price for DS. He's not an Elmo fan and I don't want to get something just because it's "in".

Exactly, its called capitalism people.

I just don't see the big deal! If someone can't afford it then they won't buy it, but if they can afford to pay $$ on ebay they more power to them.

Re: Did anyone buy an extra Elmo live to sell on ebay

I am not buying this for DS because it is the "in" toy. I am buying it because his face lights up when he sees Elmo (and he doesn't watch Sesame Street either - he is a Backyardigans lover) but will read Elmo books till he's blue in the face. I saw the toy and loved it - I can only imagine his reaction.

I also would buy extras to sell on Ebay but I'm just too lazy!

And If That Isn't A True Blue Miracle

Re: Did anyone buy an extra Elmo live to sell on ebay

Hey, I have absolutely no shame nor qualms about selling on ebay.

There was a time I felt bad that people had to spend ungodly amounts of money bcause they couldn't get it in the stores, but then I realized, that's their decision to do so.

First, my kids are too young, and whenever we put Elmo near them, they cry.

I'll list it on ebay and start the auction for the exact amount I paid for it.

After that, it goes to the highest bidder. Like I said, I'm not MAKING these people spend extra money on this thing - it's their decision to do. Really not my problem

This may not be popular, but it is what it is.
