Did anyone conceive with only one fallopian tube?
I'm just wondering!
I didn't post on this board about it, but I had an ectopic pregnancy and needed surgery 2 weeks ago..I'm doing much better (though it was the most traumatic thing I've ever experienced) and we got the clear to TTC next cycle.
Just wondering if anyone went through it. Did it take you forever to conceive? I have two ovaries, one tube. Thanks!!

I thought of you before, I remember you saying you went through the same thing as me!
How are you doing? I was a wreck for a solid 2 weeks but feeling so much better. Trying to be positive and enjoying the fall now..I joined WW to lose 15 that i needed to lose (and didn't when i got pg in august, lol) so hoping that keeps me motivated..I already feel better.
Hugs to you....hoping it's painless for us both and we're together on the pregnancy board ASAP!!!

Did anyone conceive with only one fallopian tube?
I went to high school with a girl who had one tube & one ovary on opposite sides. She got pregnant NATURALLY & had identical twin girls.
god has a plan for us all. Good Luck & Stay positive.

Thanks  Even though I know its possible I feel like I'm setting myself up for disappointment...I guess going through the ectopic really shook me up. It was so unexpected, especially with no history of problems. Here's to hoping!!

Not me personally, but DHs cousin had a similar situation...she was left with one tube. She got pregnant with DS naturally...they went to try for number two and it took her a little longer...(she was also older and I believe had another problem, but its a touchy subject for her)...but she also has a 7mo old DD!

From going through IF (not related to tube issues) I learned that your body typically alternates which side you ovulate on each month. So if you can narrow down what side you're ovulating on (twinges) you can TTC on the months you ovulate on the side with your tube. Good Luck Trying!

I am sorry for what you had to go through
My aunt had an ectopic pregnancy years ago that was so bad, she lost a tube and almost died.
Less than a year later, she got pregnant with my cousin. This happened naturally. Her pregnancy was fine and she had a beautiful baby girl! She didn't have any more- since she had a baby before the ectopic and she only wanted 2!

A family member did, after a similar situation as you. She got pregnant rather quickly even with only 1 tube

Me!! I lost a tube due to ectopic pregnancy as well. I'm so sorry for your loss 
I dealt with IF before I had the ectopic. It took me exactly 1 year to conceive following my surgery. But I think it was mostly due to my endometriosis. We tried IUIs and IVF. Then I conceived naturally on my own while we were researching new doctors. Funny enough, I had a sono done at the time of ovulation and I ovulated on the side with no tube. That's the month I got pregnant on my own! So when the doctors tell you that the tube can pick up an egg from either ovary, they aren't kidding.
I honestly don't think it will take you much longer than if you had both tubes. Good luck!

I lost an ovary and tube last year. We've been ttc since last december. I've been using opk's and get a positive each month. (our first ds took 13 months to conceive with 2 tubes and ovaries)
And because you have both ovaries the tube you have left can actually grab the egg from the opposite side. You've got a great chance.

thank you everyone for the reassuring information...it means a lot! I never expected to ever go through what i did, but then again, i guess no one ever anticipates an ectopic. VERY scary. It was undiagnosed for 2 weeks, written off at first as an early miscarriage. Sigh..

And to the ladies who said the tube can catch the egg...i remember my doctor mentioned this too..she said its not as common but it can happen. Crazy!!! You always have this image in your mind of the tubes being directly connected, and they aren't...its amazing what our bodies can do!!

Mee!!!!
I had an ectopic and required emergency surgery as well. I was given the all clear once I went through 3 cycles and got preg on our first try.

My mother had 4 children with 1 tube. After she had me she had an ectopic pg also.
