one blocked fallopian tube
I had an HSG this morning and have one blocked tube. I did get pg in the past, and had a m/c in September, so I was shocked to hear this since I would have thought my tubes were working
Has anyone else had this?
I hate to be harsh, but pelease only respond to this if you have experience with it. I'm not looking for hugs or prayers. Thanks!

well if one tube is working you could get pregnant and you did.
Do you have an appt to see your doc to discuss?
yes, I just can't speak to her until tomorrow, am very anxious, and wondering if anyone on here has experienced the same.

Re: one blocked fallopian tube
I had one blocked, but had never gotten pregnant.
I had a cannulation done (blow out the tube) but ultimately the only way I was able to get pregnat was through IVF.
good luck to you!!

Re: one blocked fallopian tube
When, I have not had the opportunity to post my intro yet, but I have had similar issues. Both of my tubes were removed because they were blocked, leaving IVF my only option to get pregnant. This does not mean that it will be the same for you. I had a laproscopic surgery when I was 19 (16 years ago); both of my tubes were blocked and one clubbed, both were repaired during the lap. The repairs were still intact 4 years later (meaning no tubal blockage) when they went back in for another exploratory.
On my 34th birthday, I went for a HSG and at that point blockages formed and a lap was performed. We (my husband and I) elected to have both tubes removed. One had a "chance" of repair, but given my age, the risk of ectopic pregnancy and potentially having it removed anyway- it made more sense, to me and DH, to remove both. Again, this was elective. At 24, I would have my tubes repaired, at 34, given the advancement in medicine, IVF seemed the better approach.
You, on the other hand need to speak to your doctor; you have only 1 tube blocked, there is a good chance of opening the tube with a quick laproscopic, while keeping the tube's integrity, it's ability to "ripple" the egg down to the uterus. You can also get pregnant, naturally, with just one tube.
It is so difficult to hear news the way you did, especially when the radiologist is doing the procedure and his only input is "it's blocked". I hope your Doctor gives you more direction and the panic you're feeling is subdued, the waiting is always the worst!
Just remember, these issue have been dealt with before (I'm an example), these doctors have figured a few things out since then. You need to have confidence in your doctor, if you don't, go somewhere else. Good luck and Please feel free to FM me anytime, I will try to help by passing along any info I have, my doctors are all Suffolk border and west.

Re: one blocked fallopian tube
One of my closest friends has a totally blocked tube and an open tube. She has gotten pregnant 3 times with little or no problems. What happens is - let's say your left tube is blocked, if you ovulate from your left ovary the right tube actually reaches and grabs the egg. The tubes and ovaries are all very close to each other so it's not a stretch for anyone to get PG with one blocked tube.

Re: one blocked fallopian tube
Alll good info above-but I will add my 2 cents. I got PG 4 times and lost all 4 pregnancies- I had an hsg which was reported as normal. 3 months after I had an ectopic that caused me to have emergency laproscopy as I had bled into my abdomen. They removed my right tube. We tried naturally for 4 months or so and then moved to IVF-we think all prior pregnancies were ectopic-as may be the case for you. I also had some immune issues that were addressed. There is no way to tell-one of my Dr's told me that many ectopics resolve themselves and would present as a miscarriage. I was successful with IVf and had twin boys 6 weeks ago. HTH
