Did anyone do PGS and still put back more than one embryo?
My doctor says chances of implantation are so high with PGS, he only recommends transferring one even for someone of "advanced maternal age."
This is my last pregnancy and though it terrifies me, I kinda wouldn't mind twins. WHAT? Who said that? Have I lost my mind?
Did anyone do PGS and still put back two?

I would definitely; no doubt in my mind put back 2. Especially if you dont mind twins; I would put back two.
A friend of mine who is doing this is also putting back 2; she is 40.

Re: Did anyone do PGS and still put back more than one embryo?
We did PGS and my RE is standing behind a single embryo transfer. We both just turned 30 and have been dealing with MFI. We currently do not have any children and have been trying for almost 2 1/2 years. We wouldn't mind twins either but the doctor scared us a little with the heightened pregnancy risks with multiples. I'm wondering if we should push for transferring 2. Do you have a date for your transfer? Ours should be around the end of February hopefully.

I did PGS and put back two. One took. There are some doctors that say PGS can impact an embryos ability to implant. I say go for 2.

I'd do 2 esp if you don't mind twins.

I would put back one. Twins is a very scary prospect and has health risks.

Re: Did anyone do PGS and still put back more than one embryo?
I loved Penncats response on how many to transfer. She said to transfer as many as you can raise. I'm doing genetic testing. If I have good quality embryos I will transfer 1 Bc as a single parent twins would be a financial hardship,
If I have poor quality embryos...which is what I have from last cycle..,, then I will have to have A very serious convo with my RE about transferibg 2. Not sure what I would decide to be honest.

Hi what is PGS?
Hi there! It's genetic screening of the embryos before they are transferred. Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis or Screening (P.G.D./P.G.S.) can be used to search for specific diseases, but it can also weed out aneuploidy (abnormal number of chromosomes in a cell), the reason many embryos don't implant, also the reason for many first-trimester miscarriages.
We opted to have PGS done since I'm considered to be of advanced maternal age and I've previously had a miscarriage. It's just a way to help us figure out which embryo is the best one to transfer and will give us the best possible chance at a baby.

Personally, I'd put back two especially since you don't mind twins. I just put back three (though I didn't do PGS) and none took. I'm 39. Good luck!
