Did anyone else have a problem transitioning DC to milk? Nee advice!
I'm not sure what to do. I tried transitioning him a couple of weeks ago cold turkey. he was miserable...wouldnt sleep and whining. So I went back to formula and over the last few weeks kept adding more milk and less formula. the last 2 days he has been on just milk and again he is not sleeping, seems gassy, constipated, etc. he sucks the bottle right down so i dont think its that he doesnt like it...I think it gives him a belly ache.
Should i just keep him on formula for now or do 1/2 and 1/2 to get his stomach used to it? I've never had a problem giving him anything to eat or drink like this. Maybe his digestive system isn't ready for milk...but formula is milk based I just dont know what to do. I feel bad for him.

Sarah had a hard time. I had to do 1 oz of milk and the rest formula, and then after about a week when her system got used to it I'd add another ounce. It took about 2 months to get her off formula totally.

It could take a little bit for their digestive system to get used to the milk.
I had trouble with #1, i started with 2 ounces of milk in formula then slowly worked it up until is was 100%.

Thomas is now 100% on milk since Friday. He does seem gassier, but I don't know if it's from the milk or the Gerber lil meals I've been giving him. He's been sleeping OK, but has been a little more restless.
Our ped said to trasition by starting with one bottle a day of milk for three days, then two bottles a day for three days, etc., until he's totally on milk.

I have, its been weeks. I started ds on one bottle of milk and the rest formula then he got sick with a cough so we put a hold on it bc of phlegm issues.
We recently started again and I did it different. We've done one bottle at a time, with 1/2 milk-1/2 formula and worked our way up to only 1oz formula the rest milk. By next week he should be fully transitioned.
I have to say though, when it was just the milk he didn't want it, when it was mixed with the formula we drank it up super quick.
Good luck!

We've been switching 2oz every 2 days. So the first 2 days in one bottle it was 2oz milk 6oz formula. Then the next two days it was 4 oz milk 2 oz formula. When done with that bottle, we moved onto the 2nd bottle of the day and did the same. And so on until it's all trasitioned.

Those Gerber graduate tub meals make DD soooo gassy!
OP, I wouldn't keep flip flopping from formula to milk. I would just keep up with the milk and if he isn't feeling more comfy in a week or so, I would contact the ped.
