Did anyone elses toddler suddenly start playing in their crib at bedtime?

Just curious..

We always put him to bed at 7:30 and by 7:45/8 he was out cold.

NOW....we put him to bed at 7:45ish and will hear him playing and singing until sometimes 9pm!! I just don't get it. It JUST started last week and has continued every night.

We heard him last night go "Disney channel? OKAY MAMA!". Lol. Then he was blabbling about ice cream cones, lol...

Anyone elses toddler suddenly start this? It isn't affecting his wake up time , which is still 6:45/7am

At random times I hear DS who is 21 months old either talking to himself or playing with his toys

As long as he is not crying and screaming to get out I leave him in there. i think its adorable

DS started doing this over the past few weeks. He used to go down within 10 minutes. Now we still hear him talking and playing for an hour. We will turn on the video monitor and just laugh because we see his eyes just glowing as he babbles. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Happens all the time. Once she was verbal enough, she started a whole series of entertaining things prior to going to bed. She sings and talks to her fish in the Fisher Price aquarium.

DD does this too..sometimes she falls asleep right away, other nights you hear her singing and talking on the monitor for a little bit...it's so cute!

Lol! I didn't see your post, I will read it!

I just am surprised he is all of a sudden so AWAKE. He goes to bed very sleepy...and now its just like "playtime for johnny". It's hysterical though to hear him sing...it's either frosty the snowman or twinkle twinkle...and he'll talk about parts of his day and recap it for himself. I love it! But I felt it was just a long time to be so awake, I guess its pretty normal!
