Air travel with toddler- what about ice?
Have you had problems keeping their drinks cold? The airline said we can't bring ice packs through security, which I understand.
Do you have any advice on bringing baggies to get ice out of machines from vendors? (We don't care if we have to pay.)
Just looking for any tips you have, like double baggies, etc.
I also forgot to ask if we can bring a small, soft cooler bag. Anybody know?
TIA!

Bring your soft sided cooler and some extra baggies. Have the stuff packed with ice, but dump it once you get to security. I'm sure any of the vendors will give you ice once through security (especially if you buy something). Once you get on the plane, ask the attendants for ice- they'll give it to you.

I agree 100% with this.

Re: Air travel with toddler- what about ice?
When we flew with DD, I took the small Similac cooler bag (the one that comes free from the hospital) with 2 ice packs in it...I had 3 bottles in there...and they let me through with it...
For her water, I just grabbed ice from vendors.
But if you've been told you can't bring the ice packs, I'd do as suggested above...

We just flew 2 weeks ago and we used a soft cooler with an ice pack as well as a ziploc bag with ice. Everything stayed very cold and we had no problems at security with anything.

We're flying tomorrow and after seeign this post yesterday I called Delta and asked. They said we could bring a soft ice pack through security. Maybe it varies by airline so call yours.
