Re: Did anyone fly first class for their HM? Or know someone who did?
I can't recall if we flew 1st class or business class for our honeymoon. Either way, it was booked in advance and I don't believe we paid for airfare b/c DH had a lot of miles.
Business class can be quite nice. Especially if you're on a plane with an upperdeck (the whole upperdeck is business class.)

We flew first class on Delta for our HM post 9/11. We played the Hm card, and since their were seats available in first class we got upgraded. Never hurts to ask.

We flew first class to Hawaii for our HM and it was great!!! Such a huge difference from Coach. If you have the extra money, I would go for it. I don't know if I can ever fly coach again for a trip that is over 5 hours.
We used are frequent flyer miles and then paid the difference.

For long flights, I recommend it. We didn't and I regret it.

We did but only because my dad works at Kennedy and he had some connections. IT was awesome. THey treated us like royalty from the time we stepped on the plane until the time we left.

We flew 1st class on our HM to Ireland. Best decision we every made, especially on the way back when you aren't looking forward to the trip anymore

Re: Did anyone fly first class for their HM? Or know someone who did?
I always fly business class to Europe for work, and while it is comfortable, IMO it is not worth the price difference - if I was paying for it myself. (i think my work flights are usually $3-4K for business versus $1K for coach). If you can find a good deal or use your miles than go for it, but don't spend a few extra thousand bucks. We tried to get upgraded at the airport for our honeymoon but had no luck.

If you can do it now...do it! I didn't do FC BUT I imagine it would be stressful to wait to upgrade...also we hoped and prayed to be bumped to FC b/c we were on our HM...I wore my whole little bride sweatsuit..and bride tank top and no one gave a damn...Oh well but we were only going to Disney

We did fly first class both ways for our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We booked coach tickets and were upgraded for free once arriving at the airport. All we did was mention that we were honeymooners. On the return trip we had to prove that we were on honeymoon, which was simple...we just showed our itinerary. The first line said "your honeymoon itinerary, congratualtions newlyweds".

we flyed first class in Dec when we flew to St Lucia, you pay for it but I think its worth it. It was great for DH who has a bacvk of a 8 yr old man. And if you like hot chocolate chip cookies out of the oven its a good idea.

Re: Did anyone fly first class for their HM? Or know someone who did?
My friend used her FF miles to upgrade. She flew to Vegas on American & said it was worth it. Having flown to SF on American in coach (thanks to my cheap job) I can say it is worth the upgrade for certain flights.
Anything overseas is great to upgrade to business or better, especially on Virgin Atlantic.

Re: Did anyone fly first class for their HM? Or know someone who did?
I flew first class for my honeymoon but we paid for it. We labored the decision but so glad we did it. I wouldn't count on the upgrade just because you are a honeymooner. I know on our trip the whole section was booked. In the hotels we tried to use it to get room upgrades in one place it did the other it did not - I think it is all about timing and availability and who you met with and how nice they are.

I would rather fly JetBlue than first class any day. But if I was forced to fly another airline it would be first class all the way.
