Did anyone get a Nook and not like it? or miss regular books?
I tested them out a bit tonight...like the nook color but still wanna see the Kindle...but it felt "weird"...and I started to wonder if it would give me a headache or I would miss having regular books? Just curious for more opinions...I tend to research things to death before deciding. TIA!

I was anti-Nook just because I love books (love the feel of them, turning the pages, etc). But I got one for xmas and I love it!. No headaches, very easy to use plus I like the extras (ie internet, music, etc). I know that at some point, I will go and buy a book just because I'll miss them but I am so glad that I have the nook now.

Nope... i thought i hated the nook or ereaders in general... but i realized that the story is so much more important to me than the act of holding a book and turning a page...

I wouldn't get the Nook Color b/c it is backlit. I have the regular Nook and I absolutely love it.

ITA agree with this. The benefit to the reg Nook and Kindle is they have e-ink which means no headaches. I was worried about that too and giving up holding a physical book. Now 6 months later I am so spoiled by one hand reading and beach reading where the wind cant blow the pages. I'd also suggest the Nook over the kindle because you can get books from the library for free.

Re: Did anyone get a Nook and not like it? or miss regular books?
I thought I wouldn't like it but it really is pretty similar to reading a regular book, plus the convenience of only carrying that and having a ton of books with you when traveling, not dealing with the wind and sand screwing you up when reading at the beach....
Since most of what I read is from the library about half of what I read is still in regular books. I'll put myself on the list for the book and the ebook (if available) and take whichever I get first, and then take myself off the other list. For me it's just another way to get the books I want faster.

I have the Nook color and love it. It does not give me headaches at all. I thought I would hate it b/c I also loved the feel of a book but I absolutely love it!

I have a Kindle and I'll be honest..I hardly use it. I like the feel of a real book in my hands.

Re: Did anyone get a Nook and not like it? or miss regular books?
I got the Nookcolor for Christmas and I love it. I was always like "I don't get the point of it, I'd rather have a book" but I find I'm about 50/50 now, meaning I use my nook, but I also still read a regular book. Like someone else said, I like that it has internet and stuff.
I find that I put books on my nooks that I'd be embarassed to be walking around with

Re: Did anyone get a Nook and not like it? or miss regular books?
I was anti an e-reader for years. I'm not sure why or when my mind changed but all of a sudden I wanted one. I ended up with the nook and in the beginning I didn't like it very much and was ready to throw it through a window. Now I love it. The only thing I miss about books is adding them to my bookshelf and lending them to my friends.
