Did anyone NOT do a theme/favors for 1st birthday party?

I don't know if I'm all about the theme. I'd do Yo Gabba Gabba but...I'd rather do that when she's older. I'll just get the usual 1st birthday decoration-type stuff.

And favors, I'm pretty much stuck on. We have such a wide range of kids as far as age goes...

I'm so not good at party planning!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I did not do a theme for any of my kids. I "think" for my oldest we had a hodge-poege of winnie the pooh invites, seasame street plates, and heart napkins.

It was just family and in my house. Theme was not a priority for me. the party was still great!

I did chocolate lollies for everyone and a beach pail for each young child.

I did the same thing. I filled the beach pails up with some little toys from the dollar section at target.

i just got plates that said 1st birthday, but didn't have a true theme. we didn't do favors b/c we didn't have kids. our party was family only and not very large.

Well you know we did Backyardigans because Emerson was addicted to that show. However, we too had a varying age of kids and it was getting crazy trying to think of a favor for each one so instead we did the activity table at the party. (not sure if you remember) We had coloring pages, hats, stickers, crayons, paper, pencils, bubbles, paddle balls, and all kinds of little fun things to do. It was great because it kept the kids occupied during the party and the were able to keep whatever they wanted at the end.

We didn't do a theme - I just got the 1st birthday party decorations. We did favors - I got personalized pencil boxes for the older kids and personalized sippy cups for the little ones.

We are doing a theme, but as for favors we are only giving out to the 6 or 7 kids that will be there. Not going crazy with that.

I did not do a theme. I see no need. I did match decor, cake and favors to DDs dress, that's all.
