Re: 1st birthday party - no favors?

LB I'm not doing them for adults either, if that helps!!!! I'll do goodie bags for the young'uns but that is IT. Don't sweat it, I've gone to many 1yr bdays and never got (or expected) any kind of favor.

Re: 1st birthday party - no favors?

no, I don't see it as tacky at all.

Honestly I don't think I've gotten favors at any 1st birthday parties (as an adult)

If you want to do something maybe chocolate candy bars. Those are super cheap to do yourself.

Re: 1st birthday party - no favors?

No. I think favors for adults are sweet but unneccesary. I'm not doing them either. The funds have simply run out. Chat Icon

Would you believe it if I told you I went to the 4th birthday of a friend's DD and Sydnie got an OUTFIT as a favor! She is super generous and thoughtful and gave everyone personalized stuff like outfits! It was insane.

I don't think you need to give the adults favors if you don't want to Chat Icon

But, if you want to give something relatively inexpensive....you could always make chocolate lolli-pops or pretzel rods...For my DS's christening we made CD's , you could always do that ( if your computer savvy) with songs from the year DD was born...Really cheap and easy if you're good with that type of thing....

Otherwise acrylic magnet picture frames ( usually $1 at Michaels) w/ a pic od your DD ??

Either way favors/no favors you're fine !

Re: 1st birthday party - no favors?

We were on a budget crunch for Kaydyn's 1st birthday b/c DH was out of work. I made chocolate elmo lollipops. I think it came out to like $1-$1.50 per guest.

i didnt do favors for the adults. I dont think its necessary. If I am going to a kids party, IMO, i expect the kids to get goodie bags, not me. And honestly, half the kids left their goodie bag stuff all over the lawn anyway.

If it makes you feel better, I never even contemplated giving the adults any type of favor.

For DS2's party, I bought 2 boxes of Hersey bars from Costco and slapped a sticker on them. Relatively cheap (way under a $1 eachChat Icon ) and everyone was pleased to leave with a memento of the day. I didn't do anything for DS1's first birthday though Chat Icon

What about making chocolate lollipops in the shape of a #1? They are really not hard to make. I made a few a day and was done in no time.

Adults do NOT need favors for a children's birthday party! Give yourself a break. I'm not doing them and all of the 1st Bday parties I've been too, I have never received one for me/DH. Chat Icon
