Let's cut them a little slack in announcing. They are a family and were probably off yesterday and busy today catching up or perhaps even running the contest.

I can tell you 100% that Katie didn't mean anything malicous about this post. She was just inqurying. Plus, nobody knows if this was a LIF or a vendor's contest. That could be a big difference. I don't think it was neccessary to blow up like that. I know LIF/LIW has been good to most of us, but she wasn't portraying them to be liars like you responded.
She asked a question, I answered it and questioned here. I did not use bad words, I did not attack or scream there was no "blow up" as you say.
Also, you don't know 100% about ANYTHING that someone else posts and if you do than you should be able to click on the link and SEE It was a LIF contest.
The scratching of the head icon is usually used to mean confused or uncertain or questioning. I used my response to clarify it. Please, point out exactly where I "Blew up?"

I am out of the office till Friday. We will select a winner then. Sorry we didn't do this earlier but my best friend's father past thus the funeral takes first position in my life right now. I think this is the sixth death in the past month for me. It has gotta stop! Sorry for the vent!

not if you thought the contest was a vendor and not specifically LIF.

June- That's how I took it.
Paulette- You have been a member of this site since it's inception and I believe a member of LIW as well...don't you kno how contests run? Plus, to say you didn't know if LIF was running it, how could you NOT know? Perhaps if you didn't read the link and just jumped into this thread I could understand but really that is the only way.
I absolutly took the questioning of the contest as the questioning of the validity of this site and the site owners. The very people who have donated houses, cancer money, save animals and a millionh other things.
The lif has done a lot for me and I felt and still feel justified in defending them with the original response that I did.

Ok, this has gotten wayyy out of hand and it's got to stop.
I did NOT mean this in a malicious way - so stop making me out to be a horrible person.
I wanted to see who won and used the wrong emoticon - it was not the end of the world. Next time, I will be sure to use EVERY emoticon to make sure that nobody takes me the wrong way....

No...I dont know how "all" contests are ran because honestly...I havent paid alot of attention to anything but parenting the last year or so being that I am so caught up looking for info on my dd. Wow, I took the comment as a joke when I first read it earlier today (especially since she posted the OP b/c she was excited to know who the winner is...) I think this thread got a little bit out of hand. I don't think anyone here was trying to insult those who run LIF...

Weird. I must have read it wrong this morning. I swore it said that the winner would be picked Jan 1 2008 and just assumed the 12/31/08 was a typo! Plus, Ron said on this thread the winner would be picked Friday. Maybe wishful thinking on my part -- reading in numbers that weren't really there! LOL
Hmm.... Guess we'll know more on Friday since Ron is out of the office this week.
If it's a 2-year contest, I'm guessing there will be TONS of entries!

Wait, I think I figured it out. I think this is a new contest for next year. Maybe they are doing the same thing for next year, too? B/c the last time that link was there, it definitely said the contest started in '07 and now it says '08. Maybe it's an annual thing and this is the newer contest??
Plus, Ron said on this thread that the winner will be announced Friday...

i don't think you meant anything bad by it... and you have certainly clarified that... as have others who seem to know you.
let's face it - it is hard to know intent/tone in emails or online posting bc you can't see people's expressions, see their voices, etc... i certainly understand why people, esp those who have been very involved with lif, are eager to defend them (and that's a good thing!), but now that it's been clarified that there was no intent here to insult lif - i don't think the original post needs to be debated anymore.

I appreciate your post. Thank you for understanding where I am coming from. I agree about not being able to express emotions through typing.
I can't blame the posters for defending LIF, nor did I try to make LIF out to be "liars". It's not what I meant at all.
If I had the option for a "patiently waiting and wondering who the winner will be" emoticon, I would have been sure to use that!
Just to clarify that I am not a horrible person...
