did anyones DC NOT like sleeping on their belly?
DD just started rolling onto her belly this weekend. She actually slept on her back the entire night Friday onward (I was afraid she wouldn't especially since we took the swaddle away cold turkey this weekend). Duriing her naps, she will roll onto her tummy and will sleep that way, but when she wakes up she is confused and starts to wail. She CAN roll from tummy to back, but is lazy, and she also only prefers to do it in one direction. The direction she prefers she can't roll that way because she's too close to the side of the crib. So she's confused AND frustrated.
This morning she woke up screaming at 5:30 because she rolled onto her tummy. I went in and put her back onto her back and she fell back asleep until it was time to get up for daycare.
My question again, is did anyone have a DC that preferred their back to their tummy? I mean, I would think it takes alot of effort for her to roll onto her tummy so if she didn't want to be there, she wouldn't do it right? Or is it a natural thing for them to roll? She probably just needs to get used to this right?
TIA!

I am convinced DD wont even try to flip from her back to her belly bc she hates tummy time so much.

i am sorry michelle but this made me because i used to say the same thing!
DS never really rolled onto his tummy in the crib, but when he was about 5 months he would do it on his play mat and then scream and cry - even though he'd been able to roll tummy to back since he was 3 months old
you are right, she just needs to get used to it. give it a few weeks - i know, it sounds like an eternity! she'll probably end up sleeping on her side.
at 6 months DS was rolling all over his crib and would fall asleep in just about any position.

Thanks LB!! No need to apologize for laughing, I'm sure I'm not the only one to ever think that!
Here's the kicker though, I dropped her off this morning at daycare, put her down on the playmat on her tummy, she was perfectly happy... then BAM, she rolls onto her back and starts to scream...
Yesterday morning she woke up (as she normally does around 6am to talk to her mobile) and then fell back asleep on her side. I did catch her a few weeks ago napping on her side.
Jen - Samantha hates tummy time too which is why I was so surprised when I picked her up on Friday and they told me she flipped onto her tummy during her nap.

michelle it sounds to me that your little angel has learned the art of the "come get me!" scream
she knows how to roll both ways, but she also knows that if she screams loud enough someone will come along and "help" her and keep her entertained
that's the age that DS started manipulating me too

Oy!!!
I'm usually REALLY good at the CIO stuff... but seeing the look on her face this morning on the monitor was too much for me to bear.
