did you ever sleep with the baby in the bed with you?
(this is not referring to the use of co-sleepers - i mean actually having the baby next to you or on top of you in bed)
this is NOT meant to start a debate over what is safe and what causes SIDS, thank you!

Oh definately. When Christopher was tiny and DH was working nights, we'd all sleep together for like 2 hours in the mid-morning. He would go in the "crook" of my arm and sleep there
I don't think he has slept with us since then except for one time when he was 9 months and was sick.
I think it is perfectly fine. If you are sleeping and ok with it, then go for it

Yes - when he was a newborn at around 5am he would wake up for a bottle and sleep with me in bed until about 7.
Those were the best two hours (even though my arm was dead since I had him snug next to me kept far away from DH for fear of him elbowing him or something  ) - and we were nose to nose! I LOVED every minute of it!
Then, he got mobile - and when he came into our bed he thought it was playtime.

Every night with Jaidy until she was a year.
Damien slept with us till he was 11 months and then came back when he was 2 (he was really sick)
We just got Damien into his own bed a few weeks ago.

Yes but not before DS was 2.5 months. I had a bassinet next to my bed before that.
Afterwards we co-slept every night for a few hours. The 2nd stretch of the night.

Definitely for naps or if he wakes up at night and we can't get him back to sleep. Not on the bed but on us in the bed.

I put yes but only once he was about 5 months old and only in the mornings. I do have a huge fear of the baby suffocating in bed with me, I am a heavy sleeper and I wouldn't trust myself. I also didn't want to create bad habits though. I never wanted him in the bed with us long term. I feel like that's one of the hardest habits to break them of!

I have with all of them. Not so much in the bed being I had the bassinet right next to it but if they fell asleep on top of me while laying on the couch then I would take a short nap as well with them on me.

I did all the time for naps on the couch with DD and it's hard to now with DS with my DD around but when he was brand new he slept on top of me in bed a lot of nights.
For both of my children it didn't create monsters - my DD will not fall asleep anywhere but her crib!

DD definitely has on a few occasions when she was tiny. But never a full night. It was always when she woke real early and then went back down after I nursed...I'd just bring her in with me. Or when she had a REALLY bad night, we'd snuggle...it was the only thing that comforted her.
And I'm sure that at some point in time when she's older it will be unavoidable!
Plus... I love to cuddle her too much!!

Yep, it started when he got sick again after his stint with RSV. The next time he got sick he was so inconsolable that we had to rock him to sleep and we of course, fell asleep in the process. He does want that everytime he is sick, or teething, which is unfortunately often. Since getting PG those nights are few & far between and if he is scared or fussy from being sick DH sleeps on his floor.
ETA: He was 9 mos or so when he got RSV.

Going strong for 3 years now!
Julia has been in our bed with us since she was 2 months old, I loved having her sleep next to me and it was so easy since I EBF her too, now that shes 3 and much bigger we are trying to get her into her big girl room, but having problems.... thats the only problem with co-sleeping, trying to get them out of your room when they get bigger.
My son is a crib baby!

Oh yes! In the beginning I'd fall asleep BFing.
Then it was the only way to calm her down in the middle of the night, but we were quick to break that one.
Now I bring her into the bed every morning when she wakes up to feed her her bottle and so I can keep my eyes closed for another 30 minutes.
It's my favorite time of day.

When Rylan wakes up in the middle of the night and doesn't go back to sleep with the bottle I take him in with me. I would say maybe once every 2 weeks.

Yes. We practiced the attached parenting model of co-sleeping until Robbie was almost 5 and Noah was almost 3.
