Re: did you ever sleep with the baby in the bed with you?

I voted yes.

dd had a severe milk protein allergy that wasn't diagnosed and the only way she slept over 1 hour was in bed with us. We had the snuggle co sleeper thing with a portable ocean sound machine in between us for about 3 Weeks. It was torcher. Once we got her on track w/ the right formula we transitioned her to her own room.

I see nothing wrong w/co sleeping up until a certain point when they start to get used to it. And by co sleeping I mean a co sleeper next to the bed or in it. NEVER should an infant be in your bed without their own "space".

And that said... overnight and napping are 2 diferent things in my book. Putting the baby to sleep in your bed and napping with that baby at 6am to get another 1-2 hours more of sleep are 2 totally seperate thingsChat Icon

I brought my dd in bed every am fed her a bottle and let her fall back asleep with just me & her all the time.

Yes, he ended up next to me a lot (in the crook of my arm)
Once in a while when he's having a bad night I still try to bring him in, but honestly now he prefers the crib (since he likes to sleep on his belly and he can't be doing that in our bed)
A little sad when they're not into it anymore

Nope and we don't ever plan on it. It's one of the major things we agree on. Chat Icon

No. I was just too terrified I would fall into a deep sleep and roll onto her. I am a light sleeper so it would have been unlikely, but DH sleeps through ANYTHING, so he was my biggest fear when it came to that.

I voted other because I've brought DD into the guest bedroom bed with me ONLY when she was sick.

Neither child has ever been in MY bed (outside of a nap here and there when they were less than 4 weeks old.)

No, DD has never slept in our bed, and she's almost 15 months. I was just too paranoid and wanted to establish those boundaries with her.

Although, until she was about 8 weeks old, she slept ON ME in a chair in the living room (she was laying on the boppy on my lap) b/c she was a colic baby and would not sleep down on her own...and I slept in that chair literally every night b/c I didn't want to take her into our bed.

Maybe a handful of times but thats about it. I would never sleep if she was in the bed with me, dont know why but I just couldnt sleep well.

She never liked being in our bed though, I guess thats a good thing right?

when I was breastfeeding, I would take her into bed sometimes for a feeding and fall asleep like that. I would always wake up a few hours later, if that and put her back into her pnp Chat Icon

Re: did you ever sleep with the baby in the bed with you?

DS has never spend an entire night in bed with us. However, when he was sick and DH was away, I needed to sleep and the only way for him to sleep at that time was in the bed with me, so I did it. I felt it was better for me to get some sleep and be able to wake up to take care of him then my ideals. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get through the day. Also, each morning, when he wakes up, we bring him in bed to watch his show in the morning before we all get up to get ready for the day. It is our time to all cuddle. I dont see anything wrong with it.

Occasionally, when he was not sleeping through the night, he would end up in our bed fromaround 2 p.m. or later on. This lasted for a few months, but not every night.

Re: did you ever sleep with the baby in the bed with you?

She never slept with us all night. Once while we were on vacation and she was waking up every 2 hours finally at like 6am I brought her into bed with us and she slept about 3 more hours. And a couple of times at home I've brought her in bed around 5-6am and let her sleep with us for a couple of hours.

Re: did you ever sleep with the baby in the bed with you?

Never through the night.

But on weekends, I have no desire to wake up at 6AM, so I give DS his bottle when he wakes up at that time and I take him into the guest bedroom bed with me. He plays next to me in bed for about 30-45 minutes and then we will usually fall back asleep till around 9/9:30.

We never did. We didn't want 2 kids and 2 dogs in our bed, the 2 dogs were bad enough, LOL.

DH also wakes up at 3 am to go to work so them being in the bed with us would not have worked for us.

I also saw a few friedns with problems getting the kids out of their bed. We were also lucky that our boys liked the cribs and being in thier own room, thanks to the NICU.

Re: did you ever sleep with the baby in the bed with you?

DD#1, NEVER

DD#2, within the first few months, occassionally in the early morning or once in a blue in the middle of the night when she absolutely wouldn't settle down. But that ended quickly thankfully.
