Did you get anything for people who really went above and beyond for your during the buying process??
WE have atleast 2 people who really really busted their butts for us and would like to show our appreciation....what is appropriate??

I personally did not buy anything for anyone b/c they got paid for their jobs (alot of money) and it is customary for the agents to buy gifts for the buyers, not the other way around. At first, I thought I should buy a gift for my REA, but a lot of people told me that I shouldn't. They ended up getting us a gift.

No K, but we didn't have a buyers' agent. But the sellers' agent, who we loved, gave us champagne, photographs of our house on address labels, and a bucket for champagne

No we didn't buy again we didn't have a buyers agent but she gave us a photo album for our before and after pics since she knew we were planning on doing a ton of work and our mortgage broker gave us a bottle of champange.

When we bought our previos home we got a gift for our realtor. He really went above and beyond in so many ways. When it came time to sell to move back to NY we used him again to sell our house and got him another gift - he really was superb and went beyond his job.
It was a token of appreciation. Oh, and all of our realtors have always gotten us gifts.

Yes. Twice now I have.
The first was my mortgage broker 2 years ago who got me a good mortgage when it was quite difficult for me to get one (due to the property type - mixed use). I got her a fruit/candy basket.
This go-around, I sent my real estate lawyer's legal assistant a apple martini floral arrangement. She deserved it - esp. since it was her second time around dealing with us. She busted her butt and saved my deal -- and fought for things my realtor never did.
She emailed me when she got it and she said she was so overwhelmed by the generosity - that most people never do anything or show their appreciation (again, she is not the lawyer in the office) and it meant so much. I hope to keep her as a friend.
K, Go with your gut.
Oh - and by the way, is it time for this?

We gave a restaurant gift certificate to family friends who helped us during the buying/beginning owning process.
