Did you give your RE a Thank You gift?
Just wondering if anyone gave their office anything just to say Thank You. I feel like I owe them so much for giving me my beans and making motherhood possible. A cookie platter or an Edible arrangements perhaps? I truly love everyone in that office. Any ideas? I am already planning on donating my meds to them. I thought something more personal perhaps

I think it's a great idea! I am still nervous so I plan on waiting until after 20 weeks or even when I give birth to send my RE a personal thank U or even a gift. I totally thinks its appropriate to show your appreciation. I gave my acupuncturist am edible arrangement at my last session.

Personally, I would wait until you actually graduate and then do what you think feels right at the time.

Yeah, I meant I would just wait till that point and do what you feel is right at the time. Just my opinion! Good luck!

Re: Did you give your RE a Thank You gift?
I know you are super happy but to be honest you are very early in your pregnancy. I don't want to be a downer but be cautious you still have yet to hear a heartbeat which is crucial and even then anything can happen.
Just trying to keep it real!!! Be happy but keep everything in perspective for where you are and what you have been thru with IF.

Totally agree; not to scare you but just try to focus on each visit until they give you the all clear and say "you are graduating". You can then go back with a gift.
I'm 30 weeks and still not comfortable. I still have all of the baby's stuff in boxes and bags.

Did you give your RE a Thank You gift?
we plan on giving all our doctor's some sort of gift...the RE, our OB and our high risk dr....but i'm so paranoid (still) that we won't do it until after the baby is born. we'll probably do some sort of food item.

Re: Did you give your RE a Thank You gift?
You are really anxious to give this gift I'm just saying a lot of graduated IVF moms/moms to be wait until they consider it "safe" before going that route(after the first trimester or in some cases (mine) until they deliver).
Maybe a fruit platter or cookie platter if you are looking for what to give.

Re: Did you give your RE a Thank You gift?
Not anxious just feel it is appropriate to bring on my last appt. Whether things work out or don't they still did their jobs and were caring and so helpful to boot. Sorry so many have such strong opinions on whether i give a gift and when but that is just my nature. I know i am early in my pregnancy but i am choosing to live positively and in the now. The rest is up to the powers that be. Thanks everyone for your input it is appreciated. probably going the cookie route since most love cookies(i know i do!)

I agree with this, maybe its because I fell so far into the trenches but at 36wks I'm STILL nervous and though I'm living in the here and now, I don't take a moment of it for granted. I don't think it's that people have such strong opinions on what YOU do, I think its just that a majority of people who responded just can't relate. Yeah my RE did his job, but I won't feel comfortable celebrating our success until my baby is here and I can send them something along with a birth announcement. If I celebrated each heartbeat I saw, this would me my 6th cookie platter. To each their own, obviously! - but it goes back to what I always say.... infertility and loss are just completely different animals. You go through infertility and your fear a BFN .. you got through infertility and losses, and you fear a BFP!
I'm sure whatever you give and whenever you give it will be much appreciated.

Did you give your RE a Thank You gift?
I wouldn't let other people's experiences scare you or make you hesitant about giving your RE a little something to simply say thanks. I think everyone who has gone through IF can post on these boards and say their situation was x so they feel y. We all know what "could" happen! Do what's in your heart and what's right for you/what will make you happy. Btw, only happy and positive vibes from here on out!

I too have experienced a loss and although it was early it was still a loss just the same. I refuse to live every day in fear if the unknown. I want to enjoy my pregnancy and be able to look back on it fondly and not as a time where i was constantly afraid of what "could" happen. I think being in the IF boards makes us forget that plenty of women have happy and healthy pregnancies and get their take home baby/babies. That is how I choose to live. That is just me. Thanks for all of your advice/concern it is much appreciated

Re: Did you give your RE a Thank You gift?
We sent an edible arrangement to the office after we were released to the OB. Then when I saw him at his picnic last year, gave him a pic of DD wearing a onesie that said "Fertility Drugs Rock" in a cute frame.

Re: Did you give your RE a Thank You gift? I graduated!
Thanks everyone. I graduated today and brought them a fruit tart and a card. Everyone hugged me and made me promise to come back. So bittersweet. Saw my babies and they look great! Strong heartbeats and developing on target!! Couldn't be happier!
