Did you have a hard time letting DH
take your baby anywhere without you in the beginning?
I do not know what is wrong with me lol.
My husband wants to take the baby out with him sometimes and I am always apprehensive about it. I feel like I need to be there in case the baby needs me.
My husband is very good with the baby, but he is not mommy KWIM?
I guess I am being nuts. Maybe being a first time mom is making me a bit idiotic. People tell me that when he gets older I am going to be begging people to take him off my hands
Anyone else ever felt this way?

yes, it takes a while to let go and just let them go, but once you get over that you'll be happy for the alone time and the time to just be you. Hang in there, it will get better!

Re: Did you have a hard time letting DH
no I was the same way ~ my DS is 8 months old and I am just getting comfortable with it (but of course still freaking out and nervous) but I know DH should have his own time with our DS 2...

YES! And I still do... though not as much And it is true, the older her gets, you will WELCOME people who want to take him off your hands so you can do what you need to do. It gets easier to let go as they get older.

Re: Did you have a hard time letting DH
Everyone is different and its totally normal as a first time mom especially to be over protective of your little one.
DH was always very apprehensive with the baby in the the early days so I used to basically just thow the baby on him and leave. I never had any doubt that he would do okay.
He is not mommy and he doesnt do things the way I do. When I go to my Zumba class I dont get home until after DSs bedtime yet DS is always awake when I get home....my thought is that as long as DS is in one piece when I get home its okay. I try to take hte same theory in mind when anyone watches my DS.
They will never be me but its good for my DS to be with other people who are not me!

Re: Did you have a hard time letting DH
Absolutely, and I still feel this way. I usually have to say ok, but have to remind him to:
Take the baby out of the car with him-bc he might be sleeping and not realize he is there bc he is so quiet.
Don't let go of the stroller, not even for a second.
Don't let anyone touch him.
Put him in the car first before he loads the car up with stuff at the store.
and some other stuff I can't remember right now. I feel obligated to remind him, even though I know he will be fine with DS.
I think it is just the anxiety of not being there to make sure DC will be ok. I'm sure it is just going to get worse as DC gets older...Don't forget to hold his hand, don't forget to make sure his shoes are tied, wipe off the shopping card before he touches the handles etc. It's enough to make yourself nuts!
