Re: I having a hard time...
it's not a bad thing to end up on your back, just when you do try to roll back on your sides. My dr told me it's really not necessary to start sleeping totally on your sides until you are about 16 weeks, but it's good to get in the habit now.
I am such a back sleeper, and I always wind up on my back, it's what most comfortable to me. Flipping from side to side at 27 weeks is getting hard
I am totally 13 again with the acne, I now get it on my back and chest which I NEVER had!!

Re: I having a hard time...
i was uncomfortable right away sleeping on my stomach, so i've been on my sides for weeks now .. which I'm sure will get very old by the time 35 weeks+ rolls around!
as for acne, knock on wood, i have nothing, and I'm 5 months on the 7th

Re: I having a hard time...
i am totally paranoid to lay on my stomach at night. don't want to squish the baby i try to lay on my left or right side entirely, but then my shoulder and hip starts to get sore! i don't even have a big belly yet & i'm uncomfortable. i'm going to look into one of those wedge pillows i think.
i agree about the acne- very frustrating!

Re: I having a hard time...
I just asked my doctor about this. I always sleep on my back. He told me that people are making pregnant women crazy with all these restrictions. You have to do what you feel comfortable with. The most improtant thing is that you sleep!

Re: I having a hard time...
My doctor also said to sleep however you are comfortable. He said that the advice for PG ladies to sleep on their left side and to avoid sleeping on their backs is based on a little piece of information that pertains to women in labor or trying to reduce edema and that it has been blown out of proportion as far as advice given to preggos.
As far as sleeping on your stomach, it will become uncomfortable soon enough. Your baby will let you know when it doesn't like being squished anymore.

Re: I having a hard time...
I have always been a aide sleeper so this hasnt been a problem for me but Ive been hearing from friends who have children that their dr told them to do whats most comfortable for them.
I have always had cleat skin and no acne problems - then my whole first trimester I looked like a 13 yr old. it was BAD. thankfully, I am at 21 weeks now and it has cleared up for the most part. phew.
