Yes! I had a pen pal named Me Yeon from Korea and we used to write pretty often and send gifts all throughout high school. Then in college I wrote her a few letters and she never wrote back So we lost touch. I'd love to write to her again and see how she is doing but I have no idea if she's at the same address.

I had one from Texas when I was in elementary school...i often wonder about what happened to her....i guess it was a primitive form of email...so sad

My cousin Alyssa was my pen pal for a while. We used to write letters then started sending each other tapes. She lived in Queens and I lived on LI!

We used to sing into those tapes, too I hope she doesn't have any of them anymore...

We were matched up with men and woman who fought for us in the Gulf War. I wrote to one woman and one man.

But my one in the UK and I became BFFs and visited each other and she even came to my wedding.

i had one from vermont. vicki. we wrote for a couple of years and then one year when my family was vacationing in lake george, my dad drove to her house to pick her up and she spent the vacation with us. she didn't have much at all, and i think that vacation was such a big deal to her. i think we kept in touch for another year or so after and then it faded; i don't really remember.

I had a pen pal from Texas named Danica, she lived on a pig farm .
We wrote for a few months but I got bored and never wrote her again

I had 2 - one from a girl who used to be in my grade and moved to OH and a teacher we had in common saw my love for writing, so he got us in touch.

The other one I can't remember where she lived, but we corresponded every so often - I think she was somewhere out west...IDK. I had saved all my letters up until I moved to LI.

I had seriously probably like 50 - ask GoingNutty - we were sorta pen pals and knew alot of the same people. Long long story but I started through my friend who got her frist one through a teen magazine.

I had one—Danielle from Louisiana! My fifth grade teacher paired us all up with pen pals. We wrote eachother for about two years and then lost touch.

hmm, i had a pen pal only a few times.
once when i went away to the bahamas. a girl my age and i exchanged info and we wrote eachother one letter.

then i wrote a cousin of mine a few times... but thats it...

I definitely did!! I had one from Louisiana who was a couple of years older than I was and used to tell me about all the boys she liked! She also sent me beads and stuff from Mardi Gras. I had another one from France.

When I was 21 I went to Israel with my family. We were in Haifa 4th of July weekend and there was a US Navy ship docked there for the weekend. This girl I had met on our tour who was the only one my age, and I were hanging out having a drink in this park and two of these very cute Navy men struck up a conversation with us. I ended up writing back and forth of one of them for a few years.

When I was younger, my cousin and I used to write back and forth, send post cards and such. He lives in Austrailia. To this day we have still never met! But it was cool to get international mail!

i had a lot. i used to write to my cousins in Ireland all the time. and my grandmother alsways used to send my Mom copies of the St. Martin's Messenger in the mail (an Irish Catholic magazine) and there was a kids section in it with kids wanting "pen friends" so i had a lot of Irish pen pals as well as girl from Scotland.

I also used to write to a girl in L.A. Remember when Teen Beat and Bop used to have pen pals in the back? We bonded over our love of Kirk Cameron and New Kids on the Block!

Yes! Weird that I was just talking about this today also! I met Catyie on vacation in Maine and we were pen pals forever. She even came to visit me in high school and we got in trouble for drinking I often wonder what happened to her!

Yes! My younger brother & I each had one from England. One of our Grade school teachers went to England & came back with a bunch of names & addresses.

We both lost touch however.

Yes I had one from Queens. I lived in Ireland at the time. We wrote for a long time. Her name was something Nina or Nina something. She sent me pictures of her family. Wow I haven't thought about her in a long time.

OMG!

My pen-pal's name was Lars Erik Ratts and he was from Denmark. We only wrote a few letters, and exchanged some currency and then lost touch..

Memory lane for sure!

Yes from the US, which ended up eventually having me moving to the US a few years later.
