Did you start any new hobbies/skills during quarantine?
I started self-learning ASL during quarantine. I'm not fluent, but I think at this point, I would be able to get my point across, and understand the basics if I met a person who is deaf. I'm probably at about a pre-school/Kindergarten level. I plan on continuing to learn.

that is awesome! i've said i want to learn ASL and haven't taken the leap. i should just do it.
i haven't spent this time learning something completely new. i've spent time going deeper into something i already do. i've attempted much harder knitting/crocheting projects that i always felt were too much. i jumped in and am enjoying the different things i'm making.

I've always been an avid baker and cook but throughout quarantine I got more into bread and pasta making. Both are such a calming and relaxing "therapy" and what's better than homemade bread and pasta???

competitive eating
I've been doing that for years, until someone pointed out that if I'm the only one eating, it's not considered "competitive"....

I like red velvet but hate all the dye. I usually will opt for a chocolate cake instead, same flavor for the most part.

LOL In the future, try the gel colors. They are easier to deal with and a little less messy. Plus, it requires less dye to achieve a vibrant color.

I’ve always wondered - what exactly is red velvet cake? it tastes like chocolate to me - is there some other flavor or something I’m missing (other than the color of course)?

U taste chocolate because it has chocolate powder. Not much but a decent amount. Chocolate is what gives that deep, velvety hue to the red color of the cake not just the food coloring and it also adds to the unique flavor.

It's basically a richer chocolate cake due to the buttermilk and vinegar. The reaction between the cocoa powder, vinegar and buttermilk is what gives it the red hue, traditionally it doesn't contain dye.
