Did you transition your DC to a toddler bed or a regular twin size bed???
Just wondering? I feel as thought the twin size beds are just so big for a 2 year old. Not sure which I want to transition to when the time comes.

We bought DS a twin bed. We transiotioned him when he was 2 years 8 months and he did not have any problem with it.

DS to a toddler bed at 22 months (which he is still in at age 4). Space was an issue and that's why we got him a toddler bed. He'll go into a twin eventually.
My DD will go right into a twin (she's 2 and still in her crib)

DS' crib turns into a toddler bed, so we will probably just use that at first, but I think a 2 year old would be ok in a twin, I went into a twin when I was 18 month old and I'm fine

My daughters crib converted into a toddler bed. She will be three next month and she is still in it. AS long as she is comfy I have no plans to change it.

My daughter went right into a twin at about 21 months but her crib convereted to a twin bed - I saw no need to waste money on a toddler bed. She did great. However, my son's crib converts into a toddler bed and then full so when he is ready he will go into a toddler bed first.

Twin bed. I'm not really a fan of the novelty toddler beds. She went right in with no side rails or anything, did great!

Re: Did you transition your DC to a toddler bed or a regular twin size bed???
We transitioned DD to a toddler bed two weeks ago and so far it's working out well. She will be 2 next month. Her crib converted to a toddler bed so it worked out where we didn't have to buy one. I felt that a twin bed would be too big for her right now.

I put DS into a twin bed at around 17 months. He was climbing out his crib & I was afraid he'd hurt himself. I didn't really see the point of putting him into a toddler bed. I put a breathable bed rail onto the twin bed and He did great with it!

We took the front rails off of her crib and she slept in that as a day bed for a month maybe.. then since her crib also turned into a full we just did that. She was too big for the crib lol

Hannah's crib converts to a toddler bed. I'm going to use that first, but I'm not planning on transitioning for a LOOOOOONG time. She's not trying to climb out of the crib so I'm not rushing it.

#1 went into a full size bed at 22 months. He looked so tiny, but he actually uses every part of the bed at night!
#2 will stay in the crib or convert to a toddler bed a little longer - since we plan to move in the next year or so.

Paige doesnt try to climb either but I dont know if I should buy her a new set and then give the new baby the old set. Im confused. Either way I would have to buy another bedroom set.

I hear ya. I ended up getting another crib that also converts - so they both have a convertible set and I don't feel like I wasted my money on a crib if Hannah decides she wants a bed soon.
I got Jack's crib for about $200. It's really nice, drop down side, drawer underneath and converts - so I'm thinking I should get my money's worth
If Paige doesn't have a convertible crib and isn't ready for a bed yet, buy her that and give the new baby her set

We went to the toddler bed mode, but that's because we have the convertible cribs. We wouldn't buy a specific toddler bed, though. If we didn't have a convertible bed, we would go from the crib to a twin.

we put Mikayla into a toddler bed at 16 months. i thought the transition would be easier. A twin bed is so much bigger and higher off the ground.
