Did your Ob/Gyn actually deliver your baby
Just a quick survey to see how many actually have their Dr's deliver their babies after you go through all of the 9-10 months with them.
If your dr didn't deliver your baby who did...the dr. on-call?
Thanks I'm just trying to get an idea of how this all works...I've always wondered.

my doc did NOT deliver my baby. Another doctor in my practice who I had been going to see (you have to see all four of them at one point in your PG) I was so upset when I got PG when my doc said there was a 33 percent chance of hime delivering me.
I was actually sent to be induced by the doctor who wound up delivering me and I am SOOOOO happy he did. He was the perfect blend of supportive and stern, and after 2 hours of pushing, I needed it

Coincidentally, mine did. There are 3 doctors in the practice and I saw all of them on a rotating basis. I only started going to this practice about a month before I conceived, and I "signed up" with the one who ended up delivering my DD and she's the one I've seen since. Didn't really matter to me one way or the other.

Mine did.. they are a group of 5 Drs so if one is away on vacation there are others to cover. I had visits with all of them and knew each one beforehand.

I had a c-section so both of the dr's in my practice performed the section.

I go to a solo prcationer and she delivered my son. She arrived about an hour and half after I was admitted. I thought she looked great considering it was 2 in the morning when she got their.

Mine did. Solo practice but has 2 other doctord that cover for her.
BUT: she actually wasn't on call and came in anyway. That meant a lot to me.

First one - yes, or at least someone from the practice did.
Second one- no, we barely go there in time so the on call dr did.

Mine didn't. Another doctor in the practice did. But I had seen him before so I didn't mind.
The actual "doctor" is only in the room for the very very last few minutes. The labor & delivery nurse does everything.
Try not to stress about it!

There are 3 OBs who do deliveries at my practice and I made it a point to see them all. I happen to like all 3 of them, so it didn't matter to me who delivered the baby.

yes and there are two Drs in the practice and I ended up with a tag team delivery and one started the delivery and the other took over mid way!

Similar here - my practice was 4 and I liked 3 of the 4. The one I liked best was actually on call when I went into labor...the one waiting behind her if the baby didn't come out when he did was my second favorite - so I was lucky....

No NEITHER of mine did!!!! And they had PLENTY of warning as I had been in labor for over 24 hours and had been to the office and called them many times. I will never go back to them again

This is one of the many reasons we chose a Midwife. She was with us from the beginning till the end

Yes, he did. But if I'd gone into labor on a weekend day, it'd would've been a different doctor in the practice.
