did your ped suggest CIO ?

I was just wondering if your ped gave you sleep advice for DC? At a certain age did they suggest you use CIO for example? DD is 6 months and still gets up once a night to eat. I know that's not terrible but we would love for her to start sleeping through the night, although I don't know if I"M ready for CIO!

Yes. At 5 months my ped suggested that we do CIO so DS would stop eating so much at night (v. during the day when he barely ate). We tried it, it did not work for us at that time.

We finally were successful with CIO at 1 year, but I do think that we me and DH, not DS. I do think we should have stuck with it longer.

Yes at 12 months the pediatrician said we had to try and let her CIO to get her to sleep better.

At 6 months he said I need to start putting him down drowsy but awake so he can learn to soothe himself and fall asleep on his own. He said to find a blankie or stuffed animal that he really loves to put in with him.

I have yet to do it thoughChat Icon

Re: did your ped suggest CIO ?

my ped suggested it at my sons 4 month visit because he wasn't eating enough during the day and was eating a lot at night.

We have done a little bit of CIO and have gone from waking up 4 times a night, down to 2. Now we're working on getting it down to 1 and eventually back to sleeping through the night again.

(The most my son has cried was for 7 minutes though). I think the longer you wait, the harder it might be as they get older and older. JMO though. Chat Icon
