Dilemma - WWYD - long

Hi! So for those that may not remember, I had two consecutive chemical miscarriages sept-November.
I took a cycle off to do rpl testing per the advice of my RE.

DH had sperm fragmentation and karyotyping = no issues.
I had insulin, glucose, hemoglobin, karyotyping = no issues.

On Monday I am having thrombo testing and clotting testing which will take two weeks to come back.

I am spotting and cd1 will be tomorrow most likely. So do I:
A. Go forward with a new injectable cycle now, hoping the test results come back in time for my iui date
B. wait another month until the tests Monday come back and I get another AF (btw who knows when bc I'm irregular)

The re said I could start this cycle IF I am comfortable not having results from last test.

The nurse said if something comes back from Mondays testing, I would be on lovenox when I get a bfp. Or perhaps after iui.

To throw in something else - an iui cycle starting now would be very convenient bc I'm off the end of December. Also, I'd be able to do two cycles before Feb - which is a month I'd have to take off for.

Has anyone tested positive for a thrombo or clot and been put on meds prior to iui/conception? It seems like the solution or fix would happen after bfp, which means it prob wasn't the reason for my second chemical, and no reason I can't stim in meantime. Idk.

WWYD? Thanks if you got through all this!

I would wait. The meds are so expensive. I know how anxiety takes over but just take the holiday off. Relax, have a drink & wait for results & you can be fully prepared

I agree I would wait..as hard as it is. You don't want to spend all that $$ just to realize that you have an issue that needs to be addressed.Chat Icon

Cost isn't an issue - this will be my 7th iui and I have all the meds I need.

Uhhh Michelle sorry you have to make this decision now. Teacher brain says do it now bc you are off end of December. I know how hard it is to take any days. On the other side I wish I hadn't rushed into IVF 2. Either way, I had the RLP and chromosome testing and all came back normal except my Prolactin. DHs chromosome testing came back normal too. So for us it really didn't matter if we had waited or not. I know you have the meds and the cost won't be too much for another IUI so if you wanna go for it do it. I took off a month bc I wanted to get answers, if you think something is gonna come up then wait. Hard decision. Good luck!

What is the chromosome testing your husbands had done? I don't think my husband had any chromosome testing done.

I would wait if you might get more answers from the further testing you are doing. I know how hard it is to wait when dealing with all of this, but at least the holidays are here and that can keep you someone occupied and not obsessing about it-well I might still be obsessing about it but at least the holidays will keep you a little busy.

OK in that case I would go for it!! FTR: I had 3 miscarriages back to back this year and everything came back normal. They think it's just bad luck so if $$ isn't an issue go for it. The next time may just be your take home babyChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Dilemma - WWYD - long

see my brain would tell me to wait, but my "gotta do it now" attitude would make me want to do now, because you never know. Sorry I'm no help. Chat Icon

DH had genetic testing done in the beginning of this journey, and then a couple of weeks ago had Karyotyping done (Chromosome) and sperm fragmentation to evaluate the DNA integrity of his swimmers.
All came back fine!

I ran out this morning and got the thrombo testing done. It should be back by Friday.

I'm hoping it will be! Did you do anything differently the cycle after your 3rd loss??

Thanks for the info. I will ask my doctor about it the next time I see him. Good luck to you! None of these are easy decisions to make!!!

Go for it. If its a clotting issue, I'm pretty sure they'd only medicate after Bfp. That's how it was for me and my mthfr anyway.

Can you move on to IVF? I became pregnant very easily but never stayed pregnant beyond 8-9 weeks(5 early losses.) I had thrombo issues and bad tubes. First IVF was successful and I have 5 year old twin boys
