Dining at Disney reviews/recommendations please
We will be going to Disney mid-January and have a few ADR's already. Can you give me some feedback on your experiences at these restaurants and other recommendations?
Why did you love them or dislike them?
ADR's are at:
1. Narcossee for the Wishes fireworks show dinner
2. Fantasmic dinner package at Hollywood & Vine
3. Play & Dine character lunch
4. Crystal palace character lunch
5. Chef Mickey's dinner
6. Rainforest Cafe the day we land
* The aloha dinner show is not scheduled for the week we will be there 
* Marrakesh in Morooco at Epcot but I'm not reading the best reviews on the food - I am thinking Coral Reef instead?
I cannot eat fried or sauteed so I am thinking Victoria and Albert's would be out for us.

We went in sept and did a bunch of character meals - crystal palace, the one at the beach club, play & dine, donald's tusker house breakfast. i would say their favorites were definitely the play & dine and donald's tusker house breakfast. They also loved the rainforest cafe.
We also had dinner at le cellier which was great, san angell inn was good, tutto italia was also good.

HI!
We did Narcoosee's which was an AMAZING dinner for us. We were there late, like 8:45, but the food was so freakin delicious and Bella was occupied with her chocolate milk...the fireworks were amazing.
Crystal Palace was great, I have a suggestion to do that for breakfast at say 8-8:30 am. You get in before the park opens and it is pretty cool to be in there with that few people in the park. Plus, b-fast buffet seems like a better bet when it comes to that. The have a parade around the restaurant every 10 minutes with all of the characters. My only beef is that some characters take FOREVER to get to your table.
We didn't do Fantasmic's dinner package because the wait for the show is like 90 minutes and we would have had to eat really early and I wasn't sure how Bella would do with the waiting at that point. We DID eat at Mama Melrose's and it was OK. I have heard that Hollywood and Vine are just OK.
We also ate at Liberty Inn with Goofy at Magic Kingdom, (although I think they may be discontinuing that in Feb of 2009 or something) That was fun, Goofy, Chip and Dale, Minnie, and Pluto...it was all you can eat served to you and the food was yummy! Mashed potatoes, turkey, mac and cheese...it was good!
I would suggest for Breakfast too...the Norway Princess breakfast Akerhus or something. You get a professional pic with one princess and then they all come to your table. The breakfast was pretty good, the lunch menu was scary for me.

What is Donald's tusker house breakfast? Haven't heard of that?

Thanks for the tip for the Crystal Palace. I just called and asked DH to change that reservation.
And so happy to hear Narcossee's was AMAZING!  I picked that as our dinner on our anniversary 
I'm going to look up the Liberty Inn - that sounds so yummy!!!

What is Donald's tusker house breakfast? Haven't heard of that?
It's at animal kingdom - the food was suprisingly very good!

We did Chef Mickey for dinner and thought it was terrible. (but were adults with no kids)
Liberty tree tavern (in MK) and Coral reef (in Epcot) are 2 of our favs

O'Hana at the Poly is just dinner but yummy!!
There's the Hoop Dee Doo Revue (at Fort Wilderness Campground) which is a cute show, mediocre food (but yummy fried chicken - oops! I just re-read that you can't eat anything fried).

we went to Narcosse's on our Honeymoon and it was AMAZING!! if you go for when the do the fireworks form the castle.. they stop EVERYTHING and you go outside to watch, then come back inside and continue.. it was wonderful!
we ate at dinner at the Cinderella's Castle as well.. and that too was amazing! we loved the atmosphere and food! just a great experience.

DON'T DO THE HOOP DEE DOO REVUE! we were just in disney 4 weeks ago and it was horrible! and I think everyone is getting the message there were only 5 tables full, where as years ago it was impossible to get reservations. the food was gross! we walked out and never even watched the show!

Just dinner but it was SO good! And they make it fun. The food was amazing!

I just got back! 
We were with my DBs kids who are 5 1/2 and 2 1/2 years old. We did Narcosee's (late- so we could watch the fireworks show). We also watched the water parade afterwards. We both got the lobster- it was SO SO good. Their desserts were really good too! My parents both got surf & turf and we gave them each a bite of our lobster and they agreed ours was so much better- we had maine lobster and my parents had 'carribean' lobster. The kids were really good at dinner- they enjoyed their food and both sat quietly for the most part. While you're waiting for your table you can walk on the deck which is overlooking the water.
We didn't do Play n Dine this time- but do it every time we go. I think the food is decent but the kids have SO much fun there- they get to meet jojo, goliath, and some of the little einsteins (can't think of everyone off the top of my head) and they dance around the room in a conga type line from time to time.
I agree about the Norway princess breakfast (though my SIL said the lunch was - they did it last time and it had a lot of smoked salmon and other ethnic foods on the menu). I also really like Cinderella's royal table in the castle at Magic kingdom-that's probably my favorite breakfast. If your DC likes cinderella, 1900 park fare has a dinner w/ a lot of those characters as well as a breakfast- I like that breakfast a lot as well.
If you like seafood, Cape May Cafe (forget which resort it's in) is good also- it's a buffet. HTH!

We ate at Narcossee's when we were on our honeymoon and it was excellent - but loud (I think it had a hardwood floors). I would definitely eat there again.
Crystal Palace - we did the character lunch - actually Matt Lauer was sitting with his wife, kids and nanny a few tables away. Great character interaction - horrible food. The food at the character meals leaves a bit to be desired - but I would definitely go it again - the character
interaction was VERY good.
Chef Mickeys - food better than Crystal Palace by a lot - but still not very good (the salads, prime rib, mashed potatoes and make your own sundaes were good) you definitely won't starve but not as good as the TS restaurants where you order a meal. The character interaction was very good too.
We did lunch at Rainforest Cafe the day we went to AK. It was good - DD loved it (although some friends of mine said their kid's were scared of the gorilla's and the thunderstorms) but DD wasn't bothered. We sat near the fish tanks and the elephants and she was clapping and waving at them. The food was fine. Think typical theme restaurant food.
We also ate at:
Coral Reef - ehhh not so great my steak wasn't very good - very salty - and neither was any of the other adult meals. But the fish tanks are nice and the food is okay just not very good. I would do it again.
Marrakesh - was actually one of our better meals. DH and I had eaten there before and enjoyed it but didn't love it - and this time our family was surprised it was actually pretty good. DD loved it - we went before we did MNSSHP - she was dressed like tinkerbell. One problem is that they have table clothes - and those paper table clothes over the tables - DD is an octopus and she kept grabbing the paper and pulling making dinner difficult - just a warning. They have musicians who play for about 20 mins every hour and a belly dancer who DD loved - she even got up and danced with her - along with a few other kids.
San Angel Inn - this gets really mixed reviews and in the past we went for the atmosphere rather than the food. But surprisingly this was one of our best meals. We got fillet and it was cooked perfectly and very nice - DH had sangria, my parents had margaritas (I can't drink) and said they were excellent - ask for a table by the water and your DC can watch the boats go by - we sat next to the railing and DD waved at every boat that went by so it kept her busy.
We also ate at Les Chefs de France (which was pretty good), Kona which I don't recommend, and Ohana (dinner) which was okay but fun.

We love Narcossee's - def my fave restaurant in Disney.
We also really liked the California Grill (can also see the fireworks from here), Liberty Tree Tavern (for lunch) and Cinderella's castle is a must, especially with a little one. DH and i love d it...and the food was surprisingly good. We ate at Marakesh the last time we were there and thought the atmosphere was good. Food was okay, but it's not my type of food. DH and my friends seemed to like it!

I actually have only eated at Rainforest cafe out of that list.
The seats for the Fantasmic Dinner package are not great from what i hear, they are way off to the side.
In January the wait for Fantasmic won't be long...here's my best Fantasmic tip. get a GREAT dinner as TAKE OUT from one of the World Showcase restaraunts..then take the boat over from MGM/DHS to EPCOT. Sit down about an hour before Fantasmic and enjoy your gourmet dinner. People were SO jealous of us. 
I've heard great things about the Liberty tree. I personally LOVE San ANgel Inn, one of my favorite meals in The World.
CA Grill an hour before fireworks- GREAT food, very pricey, but an amazing view of fireworks...SO romantic!
Our ADR for this trip (4 days to go!!!!) are:
Brown Derby Dinner- but we may actually switch this to do Mama Melrose and then an Epcot place, since it takes two TS credits
Liberty Tree Tavern -character dinner
San Angel Inn- Lunch
Yak and Yeti - lunch
Our favorite CS is Cosmic Ray's!
