dining room still progress....pics
After not liking the original dining room color, we repainted this weekend and added new curtains and put up chandelier. It's still missing something???? BEFORE
AFTER

You need something on the wall the right of the table. I would put a nice vase with some flowers on the table.

Can I ask, if you tried hanging your old curtains with the new wall color. They look like the same color.
I like the red, but I'm just not sure I like them with this room. Sorry, something just seems off to me.

we had the old curtains up first and they blended too much with the wall. Our kitchen walls are the same colors as the curtains so the red flows now from one room to the other. thanks though

Re: dining room still progress....pics
thanks for the suggestions! I will be on the lookout for something for the wall and a new table centerpiece. I would love the pottery barn candle swirl but we have limited room between the wall and table so i need something completely flat.

Re: dining room still progress....pics
I agree you need something else to tie in the curtain color. What about red cushions on the chairs, and a red centerpiece? And something on the wall on the right.
Also the door & blinks are a stark contrast to the black, red, and the wood. I don't know what to suggest there though.
I would like to know where you got that table. It looks like something I saw in Ethan Allan, and that was perfect for our kitchen.

I love the new wall color...but don't love the red curtains with it.
If you are tied to the red curtains, you need to bring red in elsewhere. Change the chair cushions and maybe even the chandelier shades.
Bring some art into the room on that long bare wall...that should help tie it all in....as would a rug with the red in it (again, if you are tied to the red).

Re: dining room still progress....pics
What about a red table runner like this to put the bowl on and tie in more red? It's on sale at Target for $4.99
This one is also Target for $19.99

I think the table needs something to make it look more dinning room-ish. Maybe remove the cushions from the chairs or change them. I would def accent with reds.
