Re: Direct Deposit
I work for a small company & we aren't charged for direct deposit. If we were I wouldn't do it.
Before I had it, I'd just deposit my checks in the ATM.

Re: Direct Deposit
It's not worth it to me. I'd rather switch banks.
We have direct deposit here but have over 2000 employees - and no fee. It's more inconvenient for us to deal with the live checks - payroll would prefer direct deposit.

ah haaaaa - It's probably a payroll service fee, and they're passing it on to us.
Thanks guys...
There are only 12 employees...I don't understand why they can't just absorb the cost!!!
you said it....it cost on average 30-35.00 per co for direct deposit...plus 35 cents per employee.

It probably would cost him more man-hours to write checks and balance a checkbook than it would to direct deposit.
It would probably be CHEAPER for him in the end to do DD.
Screw him.

Re: Direct Deposit
I have it also, and never had to pay for it. Not sure if my job absorbs the cost.

Re: Direct Deposit
thats weird! My job actual gives us $1 a paycheck for using DD...because it saves them check fee for writing checks.

The average cost to a company just for direct deposit capabilities is under $20 per month. The 35 cents is usually per direct deposit, not per employee.
But, I can't tell you how I know that
