Disability for Pregnant woman
Does anyone know if we can claim disability from the gov't in addition to maternity leave or in lieu of maternity leave? I don't know much about it but it seems a girl I know was able to collect disability. I'm not sure how she went about it, does anyone know?

Re: Disability for Pregnant woman
FMLA gives you 12 weeks off unpaid. This is a federal law. However, the first 4-6 weeks you can receive disability (length of time determined by your deilvery - natureal or C). Hope that helps. Keep in mind it is short time - ater 4-6 weeks you are SOL on $$$ unless you have a kick butt comapny that gives you some paid time off.

6 weeks for natural, 8 weeks for c-section. I already confirmed that w/my human resources dept- for disability.
