dishwasher and granite/quartz
so i'm hearing today that unless we get a stainless tub for the dishwasher, we won't be able to secure the dishwasher into the quartz. did anyone have this issue or is this just a selling point? i like the look of the stainless tub but its . the dishwasher was something we were going to spend less on because we don't really use it but if we can't install it i guess we have to get it..thanks.

Re: dishwasher and granite/quartz
When I got a new DW the installer said I had to get someone certified in the material to attach the DW to the counter.
Try calling a counter installer and asking them.

Re: dishwasher and granite/quartz
I don't understand what the tub material has to do with attaching it to anything? They aren't related at all. The tub is inside the dishwasher. There are mounting flanges on the outside of the dishwasher that attach to the counter/mounting bracket. You may need some assistance/advice to mount to granite/quartz, but it has nothing to do with the tub. Also, since granite and quartz are some of the most popular materials lately, it obviously can be done....

Re: dishwasher and granite/quartz
Your granite/quarts installers should know where the dishwasher will be installed. Ours secured a piece of wood underneath the granite (they cut a hole I think then inserted the wood so it's flush with the bottom of the granite) so we could screw the dishwasher in place into the wood. Does that make sense?

yes yes it makes complete sense and i knew it was just a selling point to get me to spend more on a dishwasher!! they told me that only the stainless steel tubs had the ability to be secured on the side of the tub instead of the top of the tub and they insisted that with quartz/granite you could not secure on the top of the tub. thank you all so much. you just saved me a ton of money!!!
