The most annoying part of this change is that your tickets are only good for the date you purchase them now. I can't tell you how many trips we have changed and rearranged. They are getting greedy at this point!

You don't have an annual pass? Don't you go 5 times a year, lol?
I guess selecting the dates won't impact a lot of people because they make plans so far in advance and are probably locked into flights or package bookings. I tend to do everything last minute, so I guess it's not too bad for me. I prefer everything to be flexible though.
I can't figure out what the benefit is for Disney.

You would think right? LOL...I just know if I ever bought a pass, something would happen and we wouldn't go as often! I'm a last minute planner, too!

They do this in Japan and I think Paris. I’ve been to Disney sea in Tokyo and am going to Disney Paris in a few weeks. Admission is wayyyy cheaper than WDW! It’s even better when the admission is lower on certain days.

Let me know how you like Paris! Are you staying onsite there? We are going next Summer after a few nights in London. They have a great sale that ends next week!

We were at Disney Paris last month. I wasn't that impressed. We had probably the worst dining experience of my life at the Pirates of the Caribbean restaurant.
