Disney commercial...does that really happen...do kids really go apeshit?
the new disney commercials...depicting "real life" reactions of kids told they were going to Disney are SO CUTE. and this is coming from a Disney hater.
so, did your kids go totally ballistic when you told them? I would put up with ANYTHING to see my son that happy.
does it "fade" if you go too often?
is there an age for "maximum OMG-ness"?
I love that christmas day one. I would do that. or maybe waking up on his birthday. but seriously  such joy!

I do know when we were running errands this weekend, I hear Ryan's little voice from the backseat say, "Mommy, remember when we went to Disneyworld - that was great!" 
I think he was too young to go apesh!t over the thought of it. Having been there twice by age 2.5, going forward NOW I believe he will understand it if in 6 months we told him we were going back.

I love those commercials! My coworker does this with her kids, she doesn't tell them they are going on vacation until the night before (in case something happens in the months leading up to it and they can't go). She said they go crazy every time!

DH goes apesh** when we plan a trip to Disney.
We go every year.
I can't tell you if that fades. I hope it doesn't because we plan on continuing our yearly trips with DD and any other future LOs.
I think if kids know about Disney stuff and are aware that there is a place like that in existence they will go crazy when they find out they are going. We took my niece (4) and she went crazy. She saw a commercial where a little girl met Cinderella, when my SIL told her that she was going to meet Cinderella she lost it. It was hilarious and so adorable. I think 4 was an amazing age for the first time.
Can I ask why you hate Disney? I am just curious.

My Parents Suprised all of us when I was 12 years old...We drove to Florida not thinking anything and we thought we were going to Busch Gardens..So as our Parent are driving we are passing all the signs saying Disney World..blah blah ....My mom tuns around in the minivan and says didnt you guys read that big sign???? I was likeYeah Mom it said Walt Disney World... I was wondering what was wrong with her at th time..lol..She says Helllooooooo!!!?? Then my brother 8 at the time YELLS "WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY MOM?!!" And then all of us started screaming..we were so friggen excited..It is a day I wont ever forget!! Mom mom also snapped a picture of our reaction!!

The first time we went, we didn't even tell our boys until we landed in Florida...kept telling them it was an adventure and we'd find out when we got there. When we spilled the big secret, their reactions were not what we were hoping for....they didn't really even know what Disney World meant, so they didn't feel the true excitement of it, KWIM?
The second time we went, we didn't tell them until the morning we were leaving. We woke them up at 5:00 AM and that time we got the reaction we were looking for!

I will never forget my DD's face as we went through the gates into Magic Kingdom. It was wonder and amazement and everything you see on those commercials. DH and I were in tears

My mom surprised us MANY times when we were younger going to disney. She NEVER told us when we were going, bc she LOVED how surprised we got! We def went APESH!T every time!
Heck I still go APESH!T and i have been there well over 20times!

Eddie knows we are going to Disney this year, but since hes never been and hell only be 4, I dont think he quite gets the enormity of it. So hes just kind of like "yeah, so Mickey will be there, right?
My parents took my brother, sister and I quite a few times when we were younger and while I never jumped around like in that commercial I was super flippin excited every.single.time. Im almost 32 and its still my favorite place on earth and Im more excited than Eddie is to go this year. So no, at least for me, it never wore off, no matter how many times Ive gone.

We didn't tell DS the first time we went, he was only 18 months. We hoped he'd like it, but he LOVED it- more so then we thought he would. We go to Florida every year- usually twice, and we don't do Disney very often because DH and I aren't all that into it. We will be going to Disney in june though, so we'll see if he goes apesh!t this time.

a few reasons that really are unique to me.
the first time I went I was 15, and I was in a bad place with my family. I hated my father and couldn't stand to be any place near him or to even have fun in his vicinity. it was impossible for me to enjoy myself if I could hear him breathe.
plus, it was August. AUGUST. in Florida. It was disgustingly hot.
and then we didn't really have any money. so we couldn't do any of the extras (truth be told we got to go b/c my parents signed up for one of those time share seminars so certain things were free. but we spent an entire day learning about something we would NEVER EVER buy in to)
and then....I went to Germany. and saw first hand how the disney company basically "stole" hundreds of years of folklore and made a fortune out of it.
but I have to say, as an adult I took my niece to Disney LAND in CA, and I enjoyed that a lot. it was smaller and much more user friendly. and also, I was not surrounded by my family or the bs any more. I was in a better place.

I think the kids need to be older to really understand and go crazy. That being said my daughter still talks about Disney all the time and we went in August. She says she wants to go back and see Mickey so if we did that to her now I think she would be excited because she knows what's there KWIM?

Not sure about the commercial, but I will never forget the look on the face of this little girl when she saw Cinderella's castle from the shuttle bus for the first time. It was sheer joy.
This was a perfect stranger who was on the bus from our hotel to the Magic Kindgom. I figure if the reaction of a stranger had that effect on me, it must be 100 times better when it is your own child.

My mom surprised us with a trip to Disney when I was about 8 or 9. I will never forget when she told me I actually did a cartwheel in the living room and I started crying with excitement!

im a disney-aholic. so when my husband said we were going there on our honeymoon i went buck wild! lol.
i told DH when we are ready to go with DS (and any future kids) we are waking them up the morning of and telling them then. Thay way you get TOTAL excitement as well as not having to deal with the endless "are we going today" questions for the weeks leading up to it. lol (my brother was a brat!)
