Both are perfect times to go in terms of crowd level. I went the 1st week in September and it was great though it was a little too hot for me. Next time I am going to try the 1st week of December.

Re: Disney first week of september??
I was there last year over Labor Day weekend. It wasn't super crowded but hot as HELL, like real feel 104. We just did stuff in the morning, pool in the afternoon, and more stuff at night. My kids prefer that anyway. I'm probably going to go back the same time this year.

Disney first week of september??
thanks guys!! yeah- i've heard its HOT that time of year... but honestly i think we'll all need a break in the middle of the day anyway, so we'll just go back to the hotel and hang out, or do sit down lunches inside to cool off. we're looking at early december, but my friend who is a disney travel agent said its really worth trying to go during september before DS is in "real" school bc they usually do the free dining then, too. AND my husband isn't as much of a disney fan as i am... so he said if we're gonna go again, his requirement is that we do the water park one day... which is probably iffy in December. so i think september it is! LOL

My brother went September 4. In comparison to going January 4, he said September was less crowded.

Re: Disney first week of september??
As for September, crowd levels are awesome that time of year because all kids are back in school. You can walk on to most rides. Plus you know you will have good pool weather, though it can also be pretty hot. But we don't mind that. If you go in December the crowd levels will still feel good, but a little more crowded. The weather should be war, enough for the pool, but it can be iffy. The perk of thus tine of year is that everything will be decorated for Christmas. You really can't go wrong either way. Are the prices very different?

The few times I've gone have always gone right after school starts - and it was never that crowded. I feel like even if some parents are going to pull their kids out of school to go there, very few would do so at the very beginning of the school year.

thanks! a little cheaper in september, but not enough to make a huge difference... but its a really good possibility that we'll get free dining in september- so that kind of pushes that in the lead LOL

yeah... my friend is a disney travel agent and thats what she was saying too.... the low crowds and free dining in september are great.... and it gets harder to take advantage of that once DS is in "real" school...
