Disney Moms, do your kids ever get sick of Disney?
We went to Disney twice in 2012. DH wants to take a break from Disney in 2013. We are planning a trip to Florida this fall and DH wants to skip Disney altogether even if we have a leftover ticket from last year.
Do you think there is a such thing as going to Disney too often?
I don't want our kids to get sick of it by the time they are in elementary school.

Ummmm...no! I lived in Florida and had a season pass to Disney every year. That is the Happiest Place on Earth!

I guess it would depend on how many trips we could take a year. If we weren't limited, I think we would visit every year, moreso now since we have DS.
For us, we are limited with days because we both work. So we try and do one big vacation every year and then a few long weekends the rest of the year.
If I had to do Disney every year as our big vacation, then yes I would say there is such a thing of getting sick of Disney. We like to see different places.
Side note: Our big vacation this year is going to be Disney  We contemplated some islands, but since FIL is begging us to visit for Thanksgiving in Fl, we decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

I have been to disney at least a dozen times and there are plenty of things we have NOT seen... They add new stuff all the time... We are going again later this year. This will DS's 3rd trip in 3.5 years

Never- the more you go the better it is! We bought the vacation club years ago and this year our twenty year old college daughter went with her roommates. At this point I've lost count of how many times we been there....so don't worry about getting sick of Disney.There's a lot more to It than just theme parks.

We got to Florida once or twice a year. But we stay off site and only do one park, one day on each trip. So there's always a year or two in between each park visit.

Not at all! We have been 2 times in the last six months. My son has special needs, and they are soooo accommodating, and they make Disney "easy" for us. Its honestly our "go to" vacation before anywhere else. I am getting a tiny bit Disney'd out though to be honest, but its not about me

No such thing as too much Disney! I am in my mid 30s and have been to Disney at least 12 times in my life, taking the kids for the first time this year and we will go back, and go back again, and again! Hell, even my brother (a grown man) is tagging along for the trip to Disney this year just bc he wants to go back to Disney again!

In my opinion go as much as you can before elementary school! I don't believe in taking kids out of school for a vacation and going in the summer or when everyone else has vacation is out of the question for me. We went last year and just got back from our second visit. If we can afford it I would've to I again next year. There is soooo much to do that you can alter your trip each time if you choose.

No such thing as too much Disney IMO! 
I went a lot as a kid and then lived in FL with DH for 4 yrs and had a resident pass so I've been countless times and I NEVER tire of it. Love Disney so much. There is so much to see and do down there I think it would be hard to get bored or tired of it, at least for me.

My oldest DD who will be 18 in July is sick of Disney. She refuse to go with us in September. Every child is different, I guess. I love Disney but I have only gone about 5x and I still haven't seen it all.

DH and I are both not theme park people. The last time I went to Disney was when I was in junior high school before I had children of my own. 20 years later, I still remember it being ridiculously crowded and waiting 1+ hour per ride. We went during Xmas break. I had multiple opportunities to go to Orlando and Disney throughout my teens and 20's and passed every time, whether it was with my family or friends.
Maybe it is most enjoyable for 10 and under?

i'd say no if you asked me a few months ago. However since then my nephews ages 7,11,13 went and they were so over Disney. They loved Universal and Islands so much better bc it appeals to the super hero/ harry potter thing:( I was so sad. lol i hope my kids never get over disney!!!

I remember your post from some time ago about how often to go. We are like you and your husband. Not Disney people. We are actually going this week. Last time I went, I was in 6th grade. We will go another time with the kids when they are older but DH and I would rather travel around the world with them. Disney isn't my cup of tea.

NEVER! And I don't think we ever will. The great thing about Disney is it is possible to never have the same vacation twice. There is so much to do and things are constantly changing.

No, DH has been going once or twice a year almost his whole life, and he still loves it. His brother, too. They never even went through the phase of it being lame or babyish or whatever teens call it. I really hope my son doesn't get over it ever! He went to WDW once and Disneyland twice by the time he was 17 months. He's 2 now and we are going to WDW twice this year and also to Disneyland in Aug

I love Disney but I sorta feel like it would lose it's excitement if we went too much. DH went every summer growing up and I think that sounds like too much. I'd say maybe every other year would be better. We have yet to take our kids (we plan to go next year when DD will just turn 3 and DS will turn 1) so maybe my opinion will change after that.

I've gone just about every year since I was 18 months old and I am not tired of it! There is always a new attraction, ride or show to see so it me it never gets old or boring.

yes, i think there is such a thing as going too often, but - it's really not my thing. i am sure we will take dd/future dc's at least 1x, but i can't see us going like 4 or 5 times. totally depends on you/your kids.

I don't even think it would be about getting sick of Disney; I just want my kids to have other experiences....see other places than a yearly vacation to theme parks.

we just got back- I think it all depends on what your kids like. DD loved seeing the characters, but she liked the rides the best- and we don't need to go to FL and pay admission to Disney for that. I think I would maybe like to go once a year to the area and experience all the things there- like we wanted to go to Lego land but just didnt have it in us. Who knows what my DS will want/like when he is able to ask for things.
Also, to me- Disney is special, so maybe going too often would take some of that special quality away-- but that's just me.
