Disney questions...
Any recommendations on places to eat outside the park? I don't think we'll eat dinner in the park every day so if anyone has any suggestions please post.
Also, recommendations inside the park? We booked one character breakfast but haven't made reservations for anything else yet. I know they book up early and we're going soon so we may not be able to get anything.
Best rides for a four year old? He loves rides - all except roller coasters.
TIA!

Re: Disney questions...
Personally I LOVED Tony's In magic kingdom. I dream about some special chocolate cheesecake that I got lol.
I really liked the 50s diner in hollywood studios.
We loved the baby einstein character meal in hollywood studios as well. I don't remember the exact name for it.
Maybe the rain forest cafe in downtown, I know there is another one as well, not sure where though. But the scenery will probably entertain DC the entire time lol.
I really can't help with places off site, since I never went off site.
And sorry I can't help with rides, DS was only 8 months, and I was never that young when I went. I hear the finding nemo thing in epcot is cute, but not sure how age appropriate it is.

Re: Disney questions...
If you have a car while you are staying there, there are a ton of restaurants on Route 192. We stay off site when we go down there and we never have a problem finding somewhere to eat. We will be going down in 2 months...

Re: Disney questions...
Thanks to both - big help. We are renting a car so Rt. 192 is a good start. And we're trying to book character meals but since this is a last minute trip most are already booked.

Re: Disney questions...
There was a good Japanese hibachi-style restaurant in the Japan Pavilion in Epcot Center, Teppan Edo. We made late reservations so we could watch the firework show they have from the restaurant balcony after we were finished eating, it was awesome.
DH and I also really enjoyed Les Chefs de France in the France Pavilion in Epcot for lunch. The creme brulee was deelish!!
Have fun!

Re: Disney questions...
I haven't eaten off property but in the unofficial guide to wdw 2010 - there is a section with recommendations for off site meals.
As for on site - keep trying even call while you are there people do cancel.

I keep checking everyday and finally got an opening at Chef Mickey's for dinner - someone must have cancelled because they didn't have any for the past week!!!

Re: Disney questions...
When we go we rent a car and eat off property. They have all the popular chain restaurants, Olive Garden, Cheesecake Factory, Applebees, IHOP, Houlihans, Pizzeria Unos.
My family like Joe's Crab Shack and Cracker Barrel.
When we do character dining we usually do Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom, or Park Fare in The Grand Floridian.
There is a dinosaur restaurant at Downtown Disney and Rainforest Cafe there as well. Sometimes the waits are long (I'm not sure if they take reservations) but they are nice theme restaurants.
As for rides I'd say everything. There's a ton at Magic Kingdom, a whole kids section in Animal Kingdom as well as other kids rides throughout the park, at Hollywood Studios my family LOVES Toy Story but we go there as soon as the park opens because the wait is long and the Fast Passes go quickly, Epcot has a couple of kids rides (The Living seas is good, Journey into Imagination, Spaceship Earth, Test Track (he may not be big enough), the boat rides in Mexico, the Land and Norway.
They have a cute Character meeting place in Epcot called The Character Spot and they have Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald. It's one room that you go in and you go one by one and meet them all and take pictures.
