Diva Half Marathon on LI!
At the expo I went to last weekend there was information on a new half marathon on LI in October....just wanted to share in case anyone would be interested!

I was reading about this the other day! It looks like a lot of fun. I'm hoping to get into the NYC marathon this year, so I'll see if it makes sense to do this as I'm training for the big one!

If you get into the marathon and do a 3 week taper and two 20 miler training runs, that weekend should be a low mileage week so it would be perfect.

I just signed up - for the 5k though with my SIL neither of us have ever done a marathon or much long distance running so we're going to use it this a test and try to next year to go bigger

So anyone can do the 5k? It said girls 5k and I didn't know if that meant girls under 18 or whatever. I've never done a 5k race so I definitely couldn't start with a half marathon

I thought the same thing at first but the Girls 5k is co-ed I think they're trying to make it sound like a junior version because the as young as 12 years old can sign up for the Diva Run....and if not I better hope I can beat out the kiddies!!
