Do home listings pick up in the spring?
I know there are more home buyers in the spring due to school schedules, etc. But do more sellers generally wait for the better weather to put their houses on the market?

That is what I have heard. I've heard that it's not great to put your home up in the winter, unless you have too and that a lot of people start looking in the Spring, so that if they have children and they are moving to another school district, that they would be able to close before Sept. Plus I think a lot of people just don't like to go out looking for a house in the cold. {{shrugging shoulders}}

exactly!  you'll start to see more inventory now that its heading towards the spring and summer months.

Seems to be true in my neighborhood. In the past week, 3 homes on my block and 2 on the next block over suddenly have for sale signs up.

I think so...Spring and Summer because people who have children want to wait until the end of the school year to move as to not disrupt their children's schooling.

Also, most people's houses just look nicer in the spring and summer. Trees have leaves, flowers are blooming, etc. Brown grass, bare limbs and no color doesn't help with curb appeal.

you see the lawns all green.. and the flowers bloom.. just the whole appearance is much better from winter time.
