Do I Have To Change My Name With Social Security?
When I got married someone told me that I didn't have to change my name with SS, I could just leave that under my maiden name. Is that true?
I still haven't changed my license yet either... I never get out of my house!

Did you change your name legally? if so, then yes, you need to change your SS.

Legally changing your name MEANS changing it with SS.

You don't have to, but once you do (if you do) you'll need to change everything.

jeri i still need to change my SS name too... license i did like the day after we got home from the HM  just take your butt to the DMV, its soo easy.. just bring your marriage cert with you and your ID and stuff...

You haven't legally changed your name yet then. If you want to change your name legally to your married name, then, yes, you must change it with social security.

You are supposed to change it with SS from what I thought.
