Re: Do I have to serve alcohol at DD's birthday?

See I wouldn't skip it, we had alcohol at Julia's 1st and 2nd b-day partys in the backyard, we have a bar by the pool and it was nice for the grown ups to hang out and have a few drinks, I guess not everyone I invited had kids so it was ok. I wouldn't care if I went to a party and they didn't have alcohol, but my DH would be pi$$ed if he couldn't have a beer--lol

I would feel weird not having it since there are many people that come to my kid's parties that have no kids and want to have a beer or two.

OK I always thought a birthday party was for the kids. Not the parents. I don't even know how it got to be so popular to have these big parties, with all the adults... Anyway I would say no, the party is for DD and she doesn't drink alcohol so.....no.

It's a baby's first birthday, not a high school kegger!!! Honestly, of all the first birthdays I've been to there was never any alcohol and I have one to go to in a few weeks and I wouldn't expect there to be any. It's only a few hours long, if someone needs to drink in that amount time they might have an issue.
