Do I need a bottle warmer? Bottle Sanitizer?
You can't microwave a bottle right?
If you have a dish washer do you need a bottle sanitizer?
Thanks

Re: Do I need a bottle warmer? Bottle Sanitizer?
I want to say an hour? I remember it saying on the formular container but now I cant remember if it's 1 or 2 hours...
ETA: the best advice anyone ever gave me was to never warm the bottle and give room temp from the beginnning. SO much easier and they never know what they are missing.

Do you mean bottle sterilizer? Then I would say yes! I still use mine.
Bottle warmer...NO! I tried mine once and it didn't work. It has been sitting in my basement for 7 months now...biggest waste!!!!!!!!!!!!! To warm bottles I put the bottles in a mug of hot tap water.

Didn't have a bottle warmer. Did have a sanitizer.
Used the sanitizer maybe 2 or 3 times when I first got it. Never felt like I needed a bottle warmer.
So IMO you don't really NEED either.

Totally agree! Never warmed a bottle, and the only time I sterlized was when I took them out of the package. For that I just used a big pot of boiling water.

I don't have a dishwasher, so I registered for the bottle sterilizer. The bottle warmer was a last minute addition to my registry- we'll see. I may return it.

You don't need either. I had gotten them both when I used the Born Free bottles and it was a total waste. Pretty quickly we switched over to Playtex Drop Ins (which are awesome btw) and they heat up crazy fast in a cup of hot water and every now and again I would put them in the dishwasher but because you use a new liner every time washing with soapy water is fine.

Re: Do I need a bottle warmer? Bottle Sanitizer?
i'm not using either. I dont have a very large kitchen so really dont have room for them. I will warm bottles in a bowl of warm water. I have a dishwasher for sterilising and also bought those reusable sterilizer bags.

I don't have a sterilizer, but I do have a bottle warmer. I use it upstairs at night so I don't have to come down to make a bottle. During the day I use a pot of hot water.

Never used the sanitizer, just the dishwasher. I didn't use a bottle warmer but I am going to get one this time.

Re: Do I need a bottle warmer? Bottle Sanitizer?
I bought those Medela Sterilizer bags (recommended by a nurse at my hospital) and never used them for the bottles.
I am going to go against the grain and say that I used my bottle warmer ALLLLLL the time.
I have this one, and it works great.
Heats the bottle in under 2 mins.

Re: Do I need a bottle warmer? Bottle Sanitizer?
I sterilized bottles every time when DD was small. That being said, I was also BFing.....so it wasn't for every feeding. My microwave was not big enough for the sterilizer, so I boiled them.
The warmer, depends. If you're going to FF, I don't think you need to warm bottles at all. You can just give them at room temp.
If you're BFing and pumping, then you will have to warm the bottles, in which case I found the warmer to be quicker than boiling water or running it under the faucet. I had the Avent warmer. Very easy to use.

Re: Do I need a bottle warmer? Bottle Sanitizer?
I never used either one. I sterilized my bottles the old fashioned way when I first got them - boiled them in a pot of water on the stove. After that, I washed them in the dishwasher.
My DD was the most impatient baby ever (and now the most impatient toddler) and would scream bloody murder before every feeding . After a few weeks I couldn't take the screaming anymore and gave her bottles straight from the fridge when I was home and room temperature otherwise. Best decision I ever made.
It freaks a lot of people out but I researched it and warm or cold, it really makes no difference.
