Do kids stay in 2T, etc. sizes longer than the previous sizes?
I just got a whole bunch of stuff for Sash.. and got 2T as opposed to 24months because she is so tall. A lot of her 18m still fit, but I wasn't going to get something that she would grow out of quickly for fall/winter..
I attempted not to overbuy, but with some hand me downs, left over gift cards and sales at The Gap and Target-- I seem to yet again have A LOT of clothes for her...
The stuff looks huge, and I imagine will fit her for a long time. Most of it can be layered, etc. as the seasons change.
Just trying to figure out if I should return stuff. Any BTDT moms have clothing advice?

Hmm...I think it depends on how proprotioned she is.
Elizabeth has a long torso and short legs so I always buy bigger on the tops. I would say she started wearing 2T tops a little before her 2nd birthday and wore them for a good 10 months or so. At the beginning of this past summer I bought her 3T shirts and I just started venturing into the regular 3 shirts and 2T pants. She'll be 3 next month.
I think she's around 38 inches tall and around 32-33lbs.

I think the size differnce between 24 mos and 2T depend on the maker. Some brands don't have a 24 mos and goes straight to 2T and gap I beleve has a 18-24 and then 2T. I would assum it is going to be slightly larger.
My DD is very similar to your DD, she is very long and skinny. So length wise she needs a larger size but then the larger size falls off of her waist. I decided to buy a larger size top and stay with a smaller size bottom, she may unfortunately have high-waters but the fo-uggs will hopefully hide this.
